Halifordukesfan 60 Posted July 4, 2013 Better take a picnic or something to do tonight as there's likely to be a looooooooooong sun break, and the management are not renown for engaging with the fans & keeping tthem entertained during long breaks in racing.
dantodan 314 Posted July 4, 2013 apart from this bloke yeah well its more entertaining to have a rebel rouser. otherwise we would all nod off on this thread wouldn't we? now I fancy a pint of Guinness whose round is it?
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv 10,706 Posted July 4, 2013 Im all for caution and respect for the opposition etc etc but many Diamonds fans seem happy with 35 points! Thats caution on the scale of an orphaned puppy left on the doorstep of the local Korean takeaway!
Chewbacca 653 Posted July 4, 2013 Check the updates and you'll see why. The Diamonds are used to throttle control and turning left.
NJC71 388 Posted July 4, 2013 More than happy with that. First really good show from Richie around Sheffield which is good to see. Robbo, Henry and Schramm all doing their jobs well and another superb away showing from Lewis Kerr who has not had a bad match on the road this season. Was worried about the Tully/Lindgren pairing before hand and so it proved although at Least Lindgren managed to beat the reserves. This is why I personally would have had Ned in the team as he was so reliable on the road. Good result though and should be more than enough for the second leg.
Travertine 34 Posted July 4, 2013 Interesting, no more than four points in it through the whole match right up until the end. I think the Diamonds followers will be happy to take a four point deficit up to Brough, but at least there is still some hope for the Tigers, its not a nailed on-cert the way Newcastle are racing. Let's hope (for us neutrals anyway) the second leg is as close.
Big Diamond 51 Posted July 4, 2013 Great result by the diamonds would have taken 10 points down without hesitation 4 is a bonus. On paper Tigers shouldnt do what Monarchs or Witches did round brough. However Wells, Roynon and Lawson are cabable round Brough so hope all seven Diamonds turn up and finish the job comfortably.
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv 10,706 Posted July 4, 2013 See nothing to worry about - a stroll in the (Brough) Park now!
oriole 8 Posted July 4, 2013 (edited) Good meeting, but worth going just for heat 15 alone. If you couldn't go, buy the dvd to see Richard Hall back to his brilliant best round Owlerton. Fantastic effort to come from the back to take both Worrall and Robson. All the Tigers gave it a good go. Impressed with Richard Lawson after a slow start. If only Facu could gate. His efforts from the back were great to watch. Ricky had a good meeting. Adam was on the pace and will soon be up there with the heat leaders. Bit more hopeful of a good showing on Sunday now. Up the Tigers. Edited July 4, 2013 by oriole

Bang on...popped over for this one and pleased I did,I wouldnt see a better ride than Halls in 15 all season, stone last out of turn two lap one and past the lot, inside and outside......brilliant to watch....surprised Lawson wasn't in heat 15 though All in all a good meeting
Steve55 340 Posted July 4, 2013 Impressed with Richie Worrall tonight, best meeting I've seen him have at Owlerton. Thought he did really well in heat 9 when under pressure from Richard Hall and throughout set an example to the rest of the Diamonds, keeping them in the meeting every time he went on track. Nothing he could do about Richard Hall in heat 15, don't think anyone could have kept Hally behind them in that race he was so determined, brilliant. Richie's a young rider with a fantastic future, bet the Belle Vue management are happy with their investment!
Cue Ball 416 Posted July 4, 2013 Somebody commented that heat 15 was one of the best races they had seen at Owlerton, difficult to disagree.
Stan Duppcomic 100 Posted July 4, 2013 Very much like Richard's Heat 15 against Workington. Top drawer stuff!
Hel'n'Back 146 Posted July 4, 2013 Why wasn't Richard Lawson in heat 15?
Halifaxtiger 5,318 Posted July 5, 2013 Why wasn't Richard Lawson in heat 15? Probably because Wells had outscored him in the meeting and Hall is always capable of pulling something off in that heat. In addition, there maybe a slight reluctance to use a guest. Whatever the case, I thought Sheffield got it right. A good meeting, with enough decent racing to shut up a few of those knocking the track recently. Can only echo others comments about Hall's brilliant win in heat 15. There was enough there to suggest that while the Tigers will not make the play offs they will be a handful for anyone now, and what was especially pleasing was the battling efforts by pretty much the whole team.
