Newcastle V Redcar Premier League Sunday 11th August At 7.00pm

Recommended Posts

Good performance by the Diamonds tonight against a disappointing Redcar side who just don't seem to be able to perform at Brough.

All six of the Diamonds rode well, maybe Tully has looked quicker but Richie shrugged of any injury worries with a classy max, Robbo again looked quick and whatever Ludvig did to his bikes after that unfortunate exclusion he needs to remember and stick with it as he’s was absolutely flying by the end, looking quicker than he has since that early season purple patch.

For the Bears it was a familiar Brough story. Ostergaard always rides well here and he had another fine night. Expected more from Wilko, given recent form and on a track that should have suited him and Summers, who can ride well here was very ordinary again. Dyer has still not sussed out Brough and although he has won the odd heat here it’s been at reserve. He was exposed at number 4 and was packed up and gone by heat 14. Injured I assume.....

Kus was Kus. Enough said.

So welcome to the Diamonds ranks Anton Rosen. Good decision by the promotion to make the signing which on the face of it looks impressive. Just 21 and scoring useful points in the strong Swedish Elite league. He’ll obviously need time to settle around Brough but I think it’s a good move and if all works well he could be a good signing for this year and perhaps 2014.

Anyone know why Micky Dyer never appeared in heat 14?

maybe, after ht13, was injured by being hit by Matty's flying rattle,,, you know, health n safety n that, looked as if Robbo's cup of tea, or whatever may have been spilt aswell !!!

good to hear we made a signing,,, and pleased to hear it was'nt anyboby previously mentioned on here,,, even tho, J Heinz even went thru my mind  , but then again, I am stupid, nite nite

Good peformance led by Richie with good peformances by Robbo and decent but not great by Tully, Also good finish from Ludvig after poor first two rides, both reserves were excellent as Bears surely would have hoped for Steve and Wilko to do better. Also Schramm slowly picking up the track at the righ time. For the Bears only Ostergaard impressed with some riders contributing nothing. Welcome to the new signing assessed riders can be a gamble, however we needed a new rider cant wait to see what he can do hope we have found a gem.

Anton Rosen rides for Piraterna in the Swedish Elite League. This week's Speedway Star has him scoring 10+1 from 6 rides in the home meeting against Indianerna This was better than Przemyslaw Pawlicki, Jonas Davidson, Matej Zagar and Piotr Pawlicki. So he seems to be no mug. George English said last night, he hopes Anton will be at the track next Sunday for some practice before his debut at Workington on August 24th.

Yes good performance 10+1, have checked scores from previous weeks and he is averaging about 5 points with a couple of zero scores, looks a handy signing. Looking forward to seeing him have a spin next week after the meeting.

According to the Redcar Papers, packed his bags after blowing his motor. Fined £200 quid by the ref for buggering off whilst the meeting was still in progress. Naughty!
