Wolverhampton 2014

I'm a bit puzzled by the apparent lack of faith in Proctor. OK, so he's been out for a while injured, but it wasn't the kind of dramatic injury that destroys the confidence of riders (Mikael Max's broken leg springs to mind). He's a heat leader now, but there are only a small handful of riders in the league he wouldn't fancy his chances against, especially at Monmore. Look at the EL line-ups and there are any number of riders in the top three I wouldn't rate as genuine heat leaders. I reckon at 5.78 Proctor looks to be one of the best value riders in the league.

I can see why some think Ty has a big ask this year. However he rode like an unofficial heat leader last season until he got injured last year (and the main reason why we topped the league at that point lets remember).

In its current format he will have a lot tougher races, but i back him fully to do a good job.

Have every believe Ty can do a great job for Wolves yet again but when you look at some of the races he had in 2013 there wont be as many easy rides in 2014 so he is going to find it much harder as a heat leader

Ty Proctor has certainly grown up in the last few seasons and is now more steady on the bike and more consistent with the points but the season ahead is going to be a tough one for him and many other heat leaders with every race containing strong riders.

Wolverhampton have stayed loyal to four riders and then got a promising top rider to fill the gap. It may be a bit of a gamble but they have the ability to surprise and have a very young team that will hold nothing back in trying to get every point on offer. Could be a good outside bet or way of the pace ?

Wolves are a very good outside bet imo. I can see improvement throughout the team, backing up the Worlds best rider...

That`s the best post i have seen about our chances, and one with much relevance.

The rest of the predictions for bottom just make me laugh all the same.

This year I really don't know if Wolves are contenders for the title o the wooden spoon as all ten teams seem to have good points but quite frankl I think the reserves are going to be the key riders in ALL teams

I think mid table with a bit look we may just get in the play offs a lot will be down to our new pole not Proctor.

Who has predicted Wolves to finish bottom? Nearly everyone has Brum & Leics at the foot of the table, and most agree that Poole, Lynn, Cov, B Vue & Swindon will be fighting it out for top four. That leaves Wolves, Lakeside and Eastie as outsiders but any of those three could creep in if they get off to a strong start like Wolves last year.

On that basis putting Wolves 6-8th is just about right. Nothing wrong with that, not laughable and keeps the pressure off which is no bad thing. As excited as I am about my team's chances there is pressure with peoples expectations. The first time we get soundly beaten (and it will happen on the small tracks) people will be all over it, comes with the territory. There's a lot to be said for being written off, I wouldn't resist it personally.

Have to agree with that analysis. Id say wolves could easily finish anywhere from 3rd to 8th, though my prediction is 7th.

Looking at tnts analysis, I make proctor as gaving an 11-8 record agaibst riders who will be opposition heat keaders in 2014, albeit withmore home than aaway matches. If he continues thst form he will increase his average, which goes against ythe ecpectstions I - and I assume others - may have had.

Bottom 3 is just as bad as quite a few posts have put those 3 teams adrift of the rest.

Anyway it really doesn't matter. Predictions have a habit of making some posters look like they know little of what they are talking about.

I can live with that.

No doubt if we do have a dreadful season i can see many saying we told you so, it would probably be just rewards for the many that were wrong last season.

I have said season after season i don't get why some put the Eagles as a bottom end side. And they have proved many wrong each time.

No doubt they will prove me wrong as well, hence why i said they are the league`s biggest dark horses.
