Shadders, where did I mention holding the meeting at Peterborough ? Most tracks would be better than Rye House. Notice you didn't try & defend the track, although that would be difficult after last night. Only having the option of chips to eat, & all bars running out of cans of beer added to the reason the event should be moved to a more organised promotion in my opinion. Just to add, the barmaid did tell us that somebody had gone to the supermarket to buy some more cans, but she didn't think they would be cold.

I've been a long time critic of the Rye House facilities on this forum and elsewhere. There is a lot that needs to be looked at. The fish bar is always out of stock long before the meeting has ended and often before it's even started! The queue used to be out of the door, but nowadays you'll be lucky to have a line of half a dozen or more. The quality is another matter, but I can't really comment, because I no longer eat there, just what I've been told by those that have.

They must have been expecting a larger than normal attendance and should've ordered extra stock, especially being an midweek evening meeting with the likelyhood that people would be coming straight from work. I was in the fish & chip business for 24 years and find it unbelievable that they don't know how to order properly.

When the fish bar first opened it was up there on a par with Mildenhalls, now it's an embarrassment.

Rye House shouldn't get these big individual meetings, because the track is crap.

Surely that bandwagon is full by now. On a more serious all home advantage should be removed so lets either get the fours out of Peterborough or make sure Peterborough aren't in it

My first visit to Rye for over two years last night and I doubt I will be hurrying back.

Fish & Chips - frozen fish and undercooked chips with a smearing of mushy peas for £6.40.

Beer - cans of Fosters for £3.20

Presentation - absolutely awful, the whole meeting just felt flat. No rider interviews, no urgency to keep things flowing.

Stadium - I was surprised at how dilapidated the place looked.

The Track - the one thing that really was wrong at Rye in the past is now not too bad. Was there to be ridden and those that had a go were rewarded.

My over riding feeling was one of disappointment. I still believe if promoted properly Rye House could easily be one of the biggest speedway clubs in the country.

Smarten the place up.

Have someone with a "roving" microphone interviewing the riders and even any other speedway faces that are there.

Drop the ridiculous parade music, it's frankly embarrassing.

Lakeside may have a rubbish track but at least they attempt to put on a show, last night it felt like they were just going through the motions at Hoddesdon. In front of what looked to be a very good sized crowd.

Leigh Lanham led from the tapes, but Stefan Nielsen shot past him on the back straight. May have been lap 2

Aye! Judging by comments on here and updates we've got the wrong Nielsen!

Westhamboy66, I agree that the fours should be at a neutral venue, as it will devalue the home teams efforts if they win. People talk about altering Leicesters track, & I think there is a case to do the same at Hoddesdon, mainly on the first & second bend. Shadders, the last 3 times I have been to Rye, the fish bar has ran out an hour before the start. Added to the fact that they cant buy enough cans of beer to last 1 night, it makes you wonder if they need a new catering manager, because its costing the club money.

And the pairs out of Somerset and the PLRC out of Sheffield ?

It was tried a few years ago and didn't work so reverted back to what we have now.

Quite happy to see the 4's remain at Peterborough despite the home advantage. Great track and facilities.

Surely the reason the big events are held where they are is to ensure maximum crowd levels. If British semis were held at EL tracks would EL fans converge to see those PL riders they dont get to see every week? Er maybe not. Would EL fans rush to see second division pairs 4s or riders championships. NO. The U21 s is at Cradley for the same reason. How often is there an unexpected home win?
