Witches V Monarchs Pl 29th May 7-30pm

Recommended Posts

Always the blue & white blinkers at Ippo.

In my opinion Justin was way clear of Gina in heat 8 when the Yank bailed out. And the incident was very similar to heat 13 when Sam was ridden into the thick stuff by Tungate and bailed out.

There was consistency in both decisions, they were both wrong.

Also Cookie gets a warning in heat 13 for nearly jumping through start. But Hawkins does the same in heat 2 and catches the tapes with his helmet but No warning.

Buy hey ho Ippo somehow deserved to win? Not sure how how.

Ippo have a good top 4 at home.

But Heeps, Ellis & Hawkins were very poor. Very surprised at that. Ellis seems to be overriding - not sure if that's why he has so many offs. Maybe Heeps is still struggling with his wrist?

Anyway - satisfied Monarchs got a draw. Probably should have been a win.

Amazed at how bad gate 2 was.

get a grip people!

Cook is the best rider in the league but his attitude last night was one of a big head to good for this league and didnt like it when he was beaten.

Im not saying you should enjoy losing just show a bit of sportsmanship to the guy who beat you.

As for people that werent there you dont even have an argument to discuss on here.

In heat on Richie was tailed off with what i found out later was carb problems. Cook was half way down the back straight on his slow down lap when Worrall went over the line. Was Richie supposed to roar round and catch him up!

After heat 13 Cook crossed the line a fag paper behind the 2 Ipswich boys. He slowed up took off his goggle and turned round rode back to the pits and got the jeers from the home fans in the main stand. Worrall and Tungate congratulated each other then turned round to see no Cook.

I was then by the pits when Cook went back in and his team mates went up to him and he didnt acknowledge them. Then get stroppy when asked to get on the truck for the parade.

As he went to the showers you ahve to walk past people by the pits area. I saw 2 people with children ask him for an autograph he declined.

Im sorry he is a great rider but as a person he need to grow up a little bit.

Let's look at some facts here.

There is no doubt that Cook is arguably the best rider in the premier league and I was very surprised he was beaten 3 times by Witches riders last night.

Secondly, he was clearly frustrated at being beaten and fully understandably showed it.

Lastly, and without doubt he definitely has an attitude problem which was shown up big time last year at Foxhall with Ben Barker. Let's be honest, only someone who qualifies for an MBE award ( that's a Monumental Bell End Award ) is going to rip a heater off a wall and get himself thrown out of a meeting!

No doubt I will get a pasting for this but hey ho facts is facts.

I enjoy a single malt but not as many as you evidently.

You say it yourself 'Sam was ridden out' not knocked off or even blocked off.

Re Gino bailing out its not surprising when clouted by someone attempting a far too narrow entry divebomb move.

As for the result Id say its one where both sides will think they shouldve won so the draw probably the fairest .

Ok lets look at the things you have wrote.

Firstly Sedgeman dive bombed Gino and knocked him off. not a hard decision and no arguments from anyone in th Monarchs side of the pits. Sedgeman went over to Gino when he came back to the pits to make sure he was ok.

Then im really bemused how you see the Masters incident. Tungate went under him and took him wide. That is called speedway racing though quite clearly in your world you musnt ride riders out wide and actually cleanly pass a Monarchs rider. Masters ended up in the loose stuff about 4 feet from the fence and slid off. If you think Tungate should be excluded for passin a rider making sure the rider goes wide without touching him then you clearly have no idea abou the sport. What you should be moaning about is Masters not getting up when Cook was leading which then turned a 3-3 onto a 1-5.

Cook rolled in an earlier heat and then blatantly was moving in heat 13 so deserved his warning. Hawkins also deserved a warning.

Ellis isnt making starts like he used to and on a tricky track last night you couldnt really pass easily.

We should have lost but the Monarchs threw away points so am more than happy to get a draw

And the funniest thing you wrote:

The Sedgeman/Gino incident was the same as the Masters/Tungate one!!!!! lol

Sedgeman whacks Gino who goes down.

Tungate leaves about 3 feet between him and Masters!! How in your world are they the same!

Richie was so far off the pace he wouldve needed the fifth lap at race speed to catch them - Cook was right on their tails for the 4 laps.

You dont need to give the winner a hug and send them flowers just a quick acknowledgement will do - even one given grudgingly through gritted teeth.

typical twitcher whiner, cookie didn't shake hands so what, plenty of ippo riders no doubt have been just as petulant even a team manager in the last year or 2.

get a grip people!

LOL your the one bunching your knickers.

Seems to me you have the blue, white and yellow blinkers on. The incident with Sam Masters was no different to the one in heat 12 when Steve Worrall moved Morten out into the thick stuff on bend one, the only difference is Morten stayed on whereas Sam bailed out. I think you will also find it was Richie Worrall who moved Sam out and not Tungate.

Concerning heat 8 at the speed Justin went into bend 3 and how narrow he went in the only way he was getting round the turn was to use Gino as a bumper as you saw as he was still out of control after Gino went down.

Surprised Ritchie didn't get a warning but hey it is Barbara Horley!

Great effort from the Monarchs to remain unbeaten in their toughest test yet. Seems a bit of a lottery when only three heat winners came from gate 4 with none from gate 2. It's the same for both teams but is this normal for the Ippo track or just how it happened last night?

no whining here -would say the same whoever wherever.Im sure there have been a few Witches - have not said otherwise or that it would be right either.

Handshakes not mentioned either - just acknowledgement.

Basically because it is craig cook we are going to make a big song and dance about it if was any other rider we wouldn't be having this ridiculous discussion right now.

which you could say is to Cooks credit as at least he is rider worth talking about.

Not your run of the mill bland and characterless type.

From that point of view its good - the sport needs 'villans' for the opposition to boo.

So his attitude stinks because he is disappointed and annoyed that he didn't win?

Just shows he is ambitious and wants to go out and win races nothing wrong with being angry and annoyed at getting beat.

Anyway disappointed we didn't get the win couple of falls cost us a point but still unbeaten after 14 matches. Hopefully we will make it 15 tomorrow against the tigs.

Remember Vince Lombardi?

"Show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser."

Cookie is not riding to his normal high standard at the moment.

But he'll get back to that level again.

I didn't see Richie shaking hands with Cookie or Justin in heat 1.

Cook is an absolute tool on and off the track, his ego makes Blackpool Tower look small  . Can't handle getting beat, to watch him struggle against Swindon, thought it might bring him down a peg or two.....obviously not going by his usual antics last night. Was a likeable lad when he first rode for Workington. Reached his peak in EL , never be anything other than a good 2 or 4 at that level, dream on Cookstar !!!! :P:approve:

with a average of over 7 in the EL must be a pretty good team that for him to be at number 2 or 4. ;)

Bit of a daft statement. Cook is the best rider in the league and wins probably 90% of his races. Needs to learn how to be a good loser. We wouldnt be having this discussion if it was say Max Fricke as he doesnt win almost every race.
