Peterborough Panthers 2015

Recommended Posts

Adam trying to defy the healing time scale will only make it worse for himself and Peterborough. 2/3 weeks is pure fantasy. better off sticking with the 6/8 weeks and be proper fit.. 3 broken ribs 2 cracked rubs and a punctured lung is serious. sit it out mate.

Taken from the bspa site:

"Rathbone admitted a couple of attempts to make a signing this week have not come off. Adam Ellis, who impressed for the GB Select team as the curtain went up on the new season last Sunday, was unable to take up an offer from Panthers as it would have made him ineligible to race in the National League for Birmingham."

Surely the fact that Ellis rides on a friday, the same day as Lakeside ruled that out?

TEAM UPDATE

Wednesday March 18, 2015

PETERBOROUGH bosses are attempting to beat the clock to bring in a new face.

Readypower Panthers chief Ged Rathbone confirmed the club are keen to name a short-term replacement for injury victim Adam Roynon.

But any signing must be lodged with the British Speedway Promoters Association at 72 hours before a meeting.

Therefore Peterborough must swoop before 1pm tomorrow for a new recruit to be available to face Somerset Rebels in a Premier League Cup Southern Group opener at the East of England Showground on Sunday (March 22).

Rathbone said: We dont feel it would be beneficial to operate the rider replacement facility for any length of time.

We would much prefer to go down the road of bringing in a temporary replacement for Adam.

"We are still assessing our options but I must make it very clear that any signing would only be for the short-term. Adam will return to the team as soon as he is able to do so.

Rathbone admitted a couple of attempts to make a signing this week have not come off.

Adam Ellis, who impressed for the GB Select team as the curtain went up on the new season last Sunday, was unable to take up an offer from Panthers as it would have made him ineligible to race in the National League for Birmingham.

Rathbone also attempted to persuade Australia and Belle Vue team manager Mark Lemon to come out of retirement without success

Hmm not much choice is there? Another club added to the list that would have liked Ellis but unable due to riding for Lakeside! :(

Certainly hampering his chances for improving imo, as talents there but needs competitive action, winning for fun in the national league will be a good pay day, and Lakeside good experience with riders like aj etc but premier league is where he will gain the competitive edge imo

It's normally Allens first race at Ipswich where he gets injured if possible if his past visits are anything to go by

just like he does at Newcastle,, the tracks must look the same to him as he never manages to complete a meeting at either

Adam is certainly not winning for fun tonight!

Clegg's on fire though!

Seems daft to me that a young Brit can't sign for a PL team for a month as a temporary replacement and continue to ride in the two other leagues also. Why do we make it so hard for our own?
