Probably not a real "approach" but more of a "give us a bell Dave if Sheffield decide to keep Garrity"!

This being before the ' Ty' situation arose.

Great to have Bellego back next week and Garrity in for rest of season, if continue to pick right guests for Stead then we definitely have a good chance of making playoffs.

sheffield drop a point or two off their team average every time they use a guest with a lower average.. it may come back to haunt them later in the season. (play offs etc) but its a nice position to be in having a full range of guests at your disposal.............. horses for courses. ..............

Glad to have Bellego back next week lets hope we get no more injuries this season because we need some continuity. Its not ideal being without Steady but that what weve got and weve got to get on with it.Hope andre and ash are fit again now.

Do you think there should be a rule about teams not being able to use guests for a rider who you know isn't going to ride again in a season? Nothing against guests per se, but it is nice to have your own 1-7 week in week out

Not a bad thought, but as things stand, there aren't enough riders of a decent standard available. The UKVI don't help. Ty Proctor would fit in, if the BSPA could arrange for lower limits for non-EU riders. Gone are the days when riders averaging over 9.00 were plentiful.

Shame for Ashley, as starting to hit a bit of form. All the best.

Is there any riders available, with Stead and Birks combined average could get two 8+ riders into team but I doubt there is anybody.

You have 13.5 to replace the pair of them. Far better to look for a 5.5 rider for Birks and stick with guests.

Whats Tero Aarnio like at Sheffield? Or Mathieu Tresarrieu?

Aarnio would be a good shout and as you say keep using guests for Stead.

You're stuck with guests for Stead because you can't get an ex-EL rider as none of them will convert to high enough an average to be better than the gusts you have available due to the 6 point EL rule so it rules out the likes of Sundstrom and Larsen (pre-injury) and I can only think of 1 10 point ex-PL rider who might still have his average and be eligible but it depends on the wording of the rule - Jason Doyle - and thats not going to happen these days.

Gutted for Ash, can't even think of anybody that you would contemplate using - unless Pepe Franc would fit?

Birks 5-83

Franc 5-67

Whether Pepe could commit to all of Sheffield's fixtures is another matter of course, but that hardly seems to matter nowadays.
