ive a feeling Dick has only been given one report

Maybe for Berwick one report covers all meetings at Shielfield.

Im sure a negative report wouldnt be well received. At this rate anyways Barker could end up at second string or reserve. That Tj bloke seems to be going well, always said how well ye goes at Berwick 😄

I certainly think it is.

Pretty bad night in terms of machinery, but good racing and a last heat decider with TJ making a crucial pass up the inside of bend 4.

As we've seen on here, we've all got different views, but I think the track and racing was a lot better for the purist.

Barker's 3rd to 1st in heat 1 was pretty tasty.

Never seen as many engine's blow in 1 meeting but other than that it was a good meeting.

Would TJ's pass (was obviously important) have mattered if Claus hadn't won the race?

In all your post's you seem to praise TJ but never mention Claus when we needed at least a 4-2 to win the meeting (if Josh had won the race and Claus was last we would have lost). :drink:

Quite right, Claus was out of the gate and away, untouchable!

Clause was in superb form....often bullying his way to the front great to see a rider so committed

It's a bit easy to overlook Claus when he's in that form as nobody can touch him!

Really it was a great team effort, and the pressure on Claus and TJ was huge.

The boys delivered :)

Definitely much better racing, I think there would have been a lot more had we not had so much bad luck.

The crowd didn't look to bad for a Scunny meeting?

What was the attendance?

Right Scott, the track was much improved, it does prove they can do it, they now need to continue in the same way.

Taffy Report: Track much better, room for improvement.

Crowd was very poor, even though it was Scunny 300 plus if you take out the under 16s who go frree.

Taffy report:- Should be worried.

The team all batted well under the circumstances, 3 blown engines, Alex had a brand new engine 7 heats and bang another bill for Freddrik. Barker alone £1k worth of clutch components..

Taffy report:- Tried hard, with Hynek in next week will strengthen the team, should improve on his starting average. Barker is going to need help with his equipment, good rider on poor equipment, anyone got £2k to spare good engine from Ollie Allen going for grabs. Contact Ben if you have.

Overall a big sigh of relief.

Up against a Grand Prix (if thats what they called it)

Scunny hardly going to bring a mass of fans with them, think the weather needs to warm up a bit to get the casual fan through the gate.

What average is Hynek coming in on?

Take it Barker has lost some big sponsors then?

Ollie Allen retiring then by the sounds of things.

Allen suffered a nasty ankle injury a week or two back and is ruled out for the rest of the season so will probably have kit up for sale, haven't seen anything about him retiring, given his injuries he picked up last Saturday at Rye House Simon Stead might have kit for sale to as its difficult seeing him back before the end of the season.

Must have been a record night for blow-ups -- all in races the riders might have been expected to win.

Doolan and Vissing also had motors go bang.

Without wishing to rock the boat, is this where the Supporters Club with their avowed mission to help the riders, might lend a hand?

id say yes if you read this statement from their website:

at the end of the day we are only doing it to help the 7 lads who are here to entertain us week in, week out. Thank you!

So am sure they will help out Ben,Claus and Alex with their engines

All riders are or have placed a request to the Supporters Club, damn good job they are there to help the riders, as it does not seem to be available to assist them elsewhere. As you say Doolan & Vissing's engines blew, also Edbergs, Ben s problems were clutches, all expensive

The die hards would have recorded the GP and attended.

You would still excpect a crowd of 600 plus from local fans, that was visibly not there.

Don't know what Hynek comes in on, but is below a 5 average prob about 4.6

Ben lost his E.L sponsor I believe

Yes Ollie Allen is calling it a day, and is No 1 engine is for sale at £2k (bargain). I believe Ben asked for help to get it but is request was declined, told him to put a request into the Supporters Club to see if they could assist towards the total.

As I said, a good job the Supporters Club is there raising cash to help the riders, as it looks there is no other avenue for hel[p when needed, other than direct sponsorship.
