Former devil 51 Posted May 2, 2015 (edited) Cheating the public at the very least for this meeting? "Teen talent Robert Lambert, who returns to Panthers colours at Plymouth after missing their three most recent meetings" was posted on Friday so when was it known that he wouldn't be riding? Did you see any tweets, news items or posts to say that he wasn't riding? Honesty stops people guessing or looking for a story which apparently isn't there. I too only made the 60 mile round trip in the hope of seeing Lambert. It was announced on the centre green when we got there, that he was ill in Germany and unable to make it! Thank goodness Barker was there, so it wasnt a complete disappointment. Unfortunately there isnt much to fill anyone with a sense of excitement in the Devils team. However, it was good to see Simota having a go and a much improved performance from him last night. Edited May 2, 2015 by Former devil
Crump99 4,484 Posted May 2, 2015 (edited) I too only made the 60 mile round trip in the hope of seeing Lambert. It was announced on the centre green when we got there, that he was ill in Germany and unable to make it! That's the bit that's confusing. There's nothing in Panthers match preview or report which says that he was in Germany. If he was then he was never going to be at plymouth was he (I doubt that he'd be doing the round trip from Germany just for this meeting?), so you could have saved yourself the expense if that was the case Edited May 2, 2015 by Crump99
tellboy 3,672 Posted May 3, 2015 Agreed! it's pretty obvious that Lambert wasn't ill last night and until the BSPA crack down on these sort of stunts that teams pull they will be taken advantage of. Whether he was ill or not,how can the BSPA crack down on this sort of thing when they do it themselves.Promoters from Belle Vue and Poolex2 in the last few seasons have had a meeting called off because of unavailability of one of their star riders with no facility being allowed. So they cannot crack down on riders doing this until they sort themselves out first.

Crump99 4,484 Posted May 5, 2015 The club have recieved official documentation required to confirm Robert's illness. Doesn't answer the question of when on Friday they knew that he wasn't riding, as the Panthers news item said that he was? One assumes that his 24 hour sick note was issued hours before the Plymouth meeting? Who saw anything to say as such?
Dekker 239 Posted May 5, 2015 (I doubt that he'd be doing the round trip from Germany just for this meeting?) If he's a contracted rider he is expected too, tough if he misses his hot schnitzel n hot frau.
