Workington V Berwick 25/05/15 15;00 Hrs (lc)

Recommended Posts

So after romping through 5 pages of berwick lot going on about their team, lets get back to the actual thread  . After losing Hansen the Comets were up against it with 3 reserves plus r/r and two who couldn't even beat young Liam Carr a conference league rider. The Comets would have held the win had it not been for him withdrawing .So looks like they are waiting for Rusty to come back in place of Wethers lets bloody hope he comes back well then, Nicky barrett has lost the plot totally!!! Surely to christ theres another 3.47 reserve that will give it a go more than him absolute garbage yesterday, and the meeting before oh and the one before that. Luckily we've only had a couple of PL meetings and with two week breathing space lets hope something happens rapidly you can't expect Rusty to come back and carry on where he was before his injury , because the way its going and the general fans feel about the place its not looking good for Workington speedway, playoffs ...highly unlikely

Nearly forgot, Doolan , you were a :icon_smile_clown: when you rode here but your an even bigger one now, sandwiching riders .... tut tut, then our Kyle Howarth gives you a taste of your own medicine and low and behold off you were crying to the ref :D:nono: dummys are going cheap in £1 shop will have one next time your over for the League :icon_smile_clown:

Don't think so, the drier the track the less grip there is, a bit like being on a beach the wheels can be all over the place. By light watering a dry track it binds the shale giving more grip and faster signs. Also if you hsave any deep areas of shale, it has a tendancy to kill the power of the engine.

An explanation, now there's a rare beast!! :D Thank's for that TTP, makes you wonder then why they dont blade the outside line during the meeting, often heard that low rumble of "going nowhere" at the latter end of the meeting!! ;)

From where I was it looked more like he was complaining about Kyle cutting the corner as much as being sandwich filling? ;)

Barker for a number one has dropped a lot off his starting figure which wasnt assessed, it was a real average from the year before

By his standards he has been poor. This isnt a dig as i like him as a rider.

To drop from near 9 to 7.5 is a poor figure and anyone who argues otherwise clearly has little knowledge of the sport. An established number one like Ben Barker shouldnt be blaming machinery problems as an excuse for poor form

Think you will find the equipment problem is caused by his financial situation, and the inability to find enough cash to dig himself out of the hole

He did have that early season hand injury as well.

Does riding with a broken hand count?

Does riding with a broken hand count?

No, because by doing so he could have been a danger to other riders, a bad management decision.

So what is it? A broken hand or dodgy machinery?

Seems people are going out of their way to find excuses for him - maybe he should sit out for a month whilst his hand recovers as if he continues to ride as he is his average will look very attractive for another team next season - or maybe even later on this season!

He probably isnt averaging much more than Gjedde was for Berwick after two months

Difference between Barker and Gjedde is that at least Ben is trying. ...there is absolutely no lack of effort on his part

He also looks to be recovering by the week. I will take the Number 1 who sticks in paid 17 and turns in Heat 15 Cup winning riders. A few weeks of poor form while recovering from injury is a fair swap for that.

If that means have little knowledge of the sport I will live with that.
