HertsRacer 222 Posted July 16, 2015 In New Cross second half results for 1963 (see 'Speedway Researcher) a rider whose surname was Freudanthaler is given. Is more known about him please. His first name was Gunter, which sounds as if he could have been German or Austrian. Had little success in New Cross second halves and disappeared at the end of May. Guest Posted July 16, 2015 More study on the ‘Speedway Researcher’ indicates that Freudanthaler’s first name was Gunter. It also indicates he had an extended trial period at New Cross. April 12 - RESERVES SCURRY -Simmons, E Reeves, Freudanthaler, John Holder (f), 64.6. April 23 -JUNIOR SCURRY - Pennikett, Warner, Collins (f), Freudanthaler (f), 63.4. May 7 - JUNIOR SCURRY - Collins, Marren, E Reeves, Freudanthaler, 65. May 14 - JUNIOR SCURRY - E Reeves, Collins, Freudanthaler (f), Marren (f), 63.9. May 26 - reserve for New Cross B in 50-27 defeat at Rye House, no score by Freudanthaler.

Have seen a few with this surname coming up linked with St.Johann speedway in Austria Mis-spelt surname is a possibility. The spelling as given on this thread was taken from the results of the 1963 season at New Cross. Edited July 17, 2015 by Guest
