Starman2006 2,356 Posted February 3, 2016 In my unbiased opinion, Coventry take more supporters to Swindon from meetings I have been to. Poole are the not the greatest with travelling support - it was always very poor at EOES. What do you expect, the EOES is not exactly a trip just up the road.. Is that what you do for Poole as well as sell the speedway comic? No need mate, our crowds are perfectly ok thanks..
remembertheracers 171 Posted February 3, 2016 The crowds did go up in the all too brief Darcy Ward era. His presence guaranteed my trip down the M4. Having seen crowds decline at Oxford and Reading I'd say there were several meetings with less than 1,000 last year at Blunsdon. More promotion is needed, but word of mouth is a powerful ally when the product is good as it was when Darcy was in the team.
theblueboy 960 Posted February 3, 2016 I doubt they would have been able to afford Darcy Ward's tear off's let alone pay him to ride for them if attendances were that poor...

dump that clutch 630 Posted February 4, 2016 it doesn't matter who brings the most to the Abbey..... ..... you are all welcome Get yer backsides down here (or up here coming from Poole) and see the title winning Roobins take the trophy into the 'new' Abbey in 2017.
Gemini 4,894 Posted February 4, 2016 it doesn't matter who brings the most to the Abbey.......... you are all welcome Unfortunately that's not true. Dogs aren't even allowed to be in the car park now let alone enter the stadium. Used to love our trips to Swindon, staying in a Travel Lodge for a couple of days. Cotswolds Wildlife Park on Wednesday , up to the top of the Uffington White Horse on Thursday to wear the dogs out before Speedway. No more.

Why on earth haven't you been allowed in with your dogs? Mind you the car park geezers are like the friggin gustapo. Amazing how a little power goes to some people's heads!
