Lottery Win Speedway....

Recommended Posts

Ok, you bleed Speedway and you win 30 million quid on the Lottery. You want to save your local team, it has its own stadium, (not rented) so you need to assemble a team, the best team you can buy/pay, either sign or loan riders, you can have anyone in the world, but, you still have to stick to the points limit, the 2016 points limit. Who would you sign and why?

Strong team, but it does show that whatever money you have, there's still weak spots in a 1-7

Ok, so you have no team sponsor, can't afford any of the GP or big name riders, same team building restrictions, but no double up/down issues, build that team as well for comparison, you get average gates of 950 full paying adults, and 100 concessions to pay for your wage bill/running costs in your own stadium..

Can't have Garrity at No.6. He wasn't in the FTR list

Pay him enough money and he would have been

Let's assume Garrity was ON the draft list, as he could of been if he had wanted to remain on it..

There is nothing in the first post about having to use a FTR. you build the team to your interpretation of the rules

signed M Ford

Shamek is 6.75.

Ok, so I slipped up with team building perameters, 2016 points limit, 2 FTR'S of which one has to be off grade 1 list and one from grade 2.

The above is for both the Lottery Win Team and the Bargain Basement Team.

I'd change tact totally and have some fun.

Set up a shell holding company and make Matt Ford an offer he couldn't refuse. Then appoint a dream team of Dave Helmsley (track & team) and Len Silver (entertainment).

Then set back and watch the carnage unfold from the Maldives ;-)

This is a team that shows what a cock up the new heat format is and is a team that could be possible without the heat leader list.

I think a much better questions is : If you won the lottery and best wanted to help secure British speedway over the next 30 years (about the amount of time I have left being fit enough to attend hopefully), how would you spend/invest £30milllion?

Objective being to see the sport thrive...
