Steve0 5,517 Posted May 11, 2016 So what position will Ellis ride at now he is the Poole top average heat leader?. I thought the top rider needs to ride at 1. Just shows how stupid the EDR rules/averages are when Ellis goes from tier 2 reserve to #1 - you couldn't make it up!
Gavan 5,050 Posted May 11, 2016 I thought the top rider needs to ride at 1. Just shows how stupid the EDR rules/averages are when Ellis goes from tier 2 reserve to #1 - you couldn't make it up! Its a farcical situation. What good will it do Ellis to get beat every week in a false position. Thought the idea of the reserves was to bring young British riders on. We now see situations where the current Aussie champion is at reserve, and even riders like Tungate and Masters down there as well. Leave 6 and 7 as the 6 and 7 all season. Its crazy that the rules allowed Kyle Newman to be in the draft but thats Pooles gain and i believe him and Ellis should stay 6 and 7 all season

If they do well and beat heat leaders then move them up.
Steve Shovlar 10,439 Posted May 11, 2016 Huge blunder on the rules to make reserves into heat leaders. They should move up to second strings only. Pretty sure that will be dealt with thisin the close season. Too late now for 2016.
Aces51 2,778 Posted May 11, 2016 Huge blunder on the rules to make reserves into heat leaders. They should move up to second strings only. Pretty sure that will be dealt with thisin the close season. Too late now for 2016. The blunder isn't restricting them to moving up to heat leaders it's not realising that they would attain such high averages from still riding in protected heats. It's not as if they couldn't have foreseen it by just looking at the averages some of the EDR's achieved last year. The answer is simply to revert to the old heat formula. As you say, too late to do so this season.

As you say, too late to do so this season. The same idiots even realised that draft riders averages were so messed up they "couldnt use their EL averages" and used their PL average for team building. Then promptly agreed that they could move into the 1-5 after 4 meetings on an average gained in the same way. Edited May 11, 2016 by SCB
Woz01 3,589 Posted May 11, 2016 The top averaged rider doesn't have to ride at 1.

It was all so avoidable, with a little forethought. Edited May 11, 2016 by Nellie

Skidder1 7,654 Posted May 14, 2016 (edited) So its Hans, Buzz and Kyle Newman as 1,3 & 5 with Holder and Bjarne (r/r) as 2nd strings. Ellis and Kurtz at reserve?? (According to issue 11 of the BSPA averages)! Edited May 15, 2016 by Skidder1
