Mimmo 1,070 Posted September 4, 2016 To day has been a lovely day, yet at the same time hugely disappointing. We left Norfolk at 7.30am this morning, and drove to the Peak District to support KIng's Lynn im their speedway meeting at Buxton. We had a trouble free journey, under mainly cloudy skies, arriving at Bakewell soon after 10.00am We treated ourselves to a lovely fish 'n chip diiner in our favourite restaurant, shielding our eyes from the bright sunlight. We left there and went and sat by the river and enjoyed a very overpriced ice cream, when suddenly a text message came through saying it was raining in Buxton, some 20-minutes up the road, saying the speedway had been cancelled, and there was us basking in the sun and 22 degrees. We then moved onto Matlock, but found it impossible to park anywhere, so have driven back through Chesterfield, Mansfield, Newark etc., and not once has the sun dipped down. So how unlucky were we to be that close to our destination.....that was covered in rain!! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
