stevebrum 6,827 Posted October 16, 2017 No surprise on the result. I'm surprised we kept in it as long as we did. Congratulations to the Aces on the win, nice for them to finally get a trophy. Well done to our boys for reaching 2 finals and taking both meetings to last heat deciders. Huge credit to them for that.

Fourentee 988 Posted October 16, 2017 Congratulations to Belle Vue who have been so close to success in the last few years. A great effort by Wolves, IMHO, to take it to the deciding race in both play-off and KO Cup finals. Best wishes to all injured riders.
Ace no.5 169 Posted October 16, 2017 Heat 11. Dan Bewley. Wow. Special lad.
ouch 1,197 Posted October 16, 2017 Irrespective of the riders involved and the guest situation it was an exceptional meeting with some truly memorable heats. Speedway at its best.
Ace no.5 169 Posted October 16, 2017 Certainly was. The racing was awesome. Masters and Riss good value at various points. Lawson was excellent, Nicholls got better as the night went on. Couldn't have got worse to be fair. Greaves did ok, Richie W was pretty poor. For the Aces, Harris started well, his scoring dropped off but was always in the mix. Stevie was excellent and his score would have been better had it not been for his chain going on the last lap 5-1. Tungate was awesome, had to get a lot of points from the back as he just wasn't gating. Bjerre again awesome. Smith did a good job. Always there or thereabouts, just couldn't seem to make passes stick at times. Bewley excellent, hope he's fully fit for the Colts. Had a nasty fall bend 1 heat 12. Maybe he was too pumped up from heat 11! Lifted violently in to turn 1. As said though, with BV not exactly having their gating shoes on it made for some brilliant races. Phil The Ace 2,860 Posted October 16, 2017 tonight showed that the KO Cup meant something to the fans and riders. What a show they put on. Some sensational speedway.
Gunner85 603 Posted October 16, 2017 It takes two teams to produce a meeting of such high quality as tonight. Thank you to both teams for providing such an excellent meeting..... every race had at least one pass after half a lap. Speedway at it’s very best.... Please that Belle Vue have a trophy after a fairly barren spell
Aces51 2,778 Posted October 16, 2017 (edited) Some excellent races, good crowd and a good atmosphere. Lawson was the pick of the guests, not much to choose between the other 3 in terms of points scored. Wolves fought hard, they were fortunate that Steve Worrall's chain snapping turned a definite 5-1 into a 3-3 but a 5-1 for them in the last race would have taken it to Golden Heats. Both teams were determined to win, which shows how wrong those are who try to belittle the competition. It may literally not be in the same league as the league title but it is still an important trophy to win. Commiseration to Wolves, as Per Adams said, neither team deserve to end the season without a trophy to show for their efforts. Bewley, a rider with less than 2 seasons racing experience, is a rare talent. His win over Nichols, Harris and Lawson in heat 11 is a race that will long be remembered. For anyone interested Craig Cook has put a statement on his website concerning his health issues. http://cc111.co.uk/craig-makes-a-statement-regarding-his-health/ That should satisfy those who have been making silly comments but I doubt it will. ouch 1,197 Posted October 17, 2017 Even the league title is not in the same league, compared to years gone by.
Col 860 Posted October 17, 2017 Congratulations to Belle Vue. Commiserations to Wolves, who have had a vile end to what should have been a successful season.
foreverblue 6,113 Posted October 17, 2017 Congratulations to Belle Vue. Commiserations to Wolves, who have had a vile end to what should have been a successful season. Disappointing maybe not vile, they have had a terrific season which has ended without silverware because of injuries.
Aces51 2,778 Posted October 17, 2017 Good to see a couple of Poole fans offering their congratulations on Facebook. For those who don't consider the Cup as an important trophy just remember who we beat to win it, Swindon, Wolves and Poole.
