I wasn't there, but maybe riders were moving? 15.2.9.1 After a pause of not less than 1½ seconds, sufficient to enable the Riders to spin their engines and focus attention, and provided all riders are stationary the Referee shall release the Tapes to signify the start. *JJ 512 Posted April 26, 2018 Fourth bend, first lap. Bacon and Hume gated, and were on a secure 5-1 when Thomas helped Bowen into the fence. Re-run, after a long wait for the air-fence to be repaired, the referee again held the tapes for ages, and Bacon was said to have touched the tapes (he was not amused) and he was on 15m. Finally, Bowen made a blinder of a start and won the heat.

No, the referee was doing it all night. He was Graham Reeve, who should know better.

Guest GiveusaB Posted April 27, 2018 Unfortunately, because of the inclement weather, if you didn't make the gate, it was difficult to score any points? It was extremely dusty when at the back!
stevec 300 Posted April 27, 2018 Attended this as a neutral and really enjoyed it, despite the temperature. I felt sorry for the Kent fans travelling all that way to have such a promising start but end up with quite a heavy defeat. There was some good racing and clearly a couple of racing lines. Leon Flint!! Good find. Cracking gater and has some real pace. One of those finds at reserve that can make for a good season for the team. Not sure Brum will be as strong looking when he cant have 7 rides though.

But you're right, we wont be AS strong .... but strong enough....I think ?
