TigerAl 6 Posted April 12, 2019 The first championship action of the season. This could be a close one. Not one of Sheffield favourite tracks, in fact one of the Tigers bogey tracks if anything.
ruffdiamond 6,115 Posted April 12, 2019 Having, Howarth, King and Proctor, a think you have a good start, a lot will depend on how your other 4 take to Brough. Newcastle have not been impressive at home yet, but its probly still like an away track for most. Hope Newcastle can start to click, but I wouldn't be suprised if it was a Sheffield win.
diamond@heart 399 Posted April 12, 2019 We need to sort our gating out and the track appears to have been different for both home matches so having a similar track would be a benefit. Hopefully Clegg continues where he left off last week and Phillips needs to pull his finger out and start to justify his team place, rather than as most people (myself included) think, he only got if because of his dad (harsh but fair). It will be interesting to see crowd levels on Sunday, after two dismal displays by the Diamonds, will the crowd mainly be made up of season ticket holders, as will those who pay at the gate on the day decide to give it a miss due to the first few matches results and the fact it is f*****g baltic at the minute and line of duty is back on. Hoping for a Diamonds win to give us something to build on.

spin king 1,923 Posted April 12, 2019 (edited) Drew Kemp and Kasper Andersen now have proper averages. Drew moves into the main body of the team and Zaine Kennedy moves to reserve. Edited April 12, 2019 by spin king
Charlieboy 412 Posted April 12, 2019 Think we could have done with drew at reserve for this one.Hope our top five are on form from the off we need to get points on the board if we are going to live upto the favourites tag.
IronScorpion 1,407 Posted April 12, 2019 We found out last year that Steve likes it a bit slicker than what we are used to & we changed it accordingly to suit most of our riders. You are seeing what we saw with Phillips. We got slagged off last year but we told you so.

You slagged off , by the way try to bend the rules to bring in a replacement for Phillips, problem was Phillips did not play ball.

Danny stuck it out in what must have been a toxic atmosphere. Trying to do your best, knowing everyone is thinking you are being selfish for not quiting.

Well if the winter series track is anything to go by SLICK is an understatement,, it's a wonder the tyres never rip open after 1 ride as the blue/ grey / tarmac groove soon appears,, but at least it's track time for up & coming riders I suppose

Yeah as it's not a D shape so it'll probably hopefully catch out your 2nd strings & reserves as the top 3 will do ok providing howarth doesn't go throttle mad as per... I'm hoping if Danny can trap & settle down & big Rambo settles I see a 50 40 win to Steve & the lads
leander 495 Posted April 13, 2019 I see Max finished 3rd behind Barker and Bates in tonights Pride of the Potteries ( a.k.a. Ben Barker benefit) with 13 points from 5 rides. Danny a creditable 6th with 9. Admittedly a mainly NL field, but even so should be a confidence boost for both of them.
mauger65 202 Posted April 14, 2019 Which Sheffield will turn up ? Sometimes the Tigers are beaten before start (likewise with us down there) rather than just giving it go But with King, Howarth and Proctor … it could be a long night ahead Our 3 heat leaders have been collectively beaten in all 4 matches so far and they need to start providing a platform and leading the team Heart says diamonds 48-42 …. head says 42-48 tigers ………………… key man ….. kyle Howarth …. has been superb around here in the past and get 13+ … but poor last year and may only 9/10 and that could be the difference
diamonds7 112 Posted April 14, 2019 il go for a home defeat unfortunately unless theres more grip on track and we can get out the gates better
