Even the Sheffield riders didn’t think much of the track, which is hardly encouraging.

If crowds were good enough to support having the top riders then why would the leagues have been watered down? Do you not think it was that even with 'top' riders they still didn't attract crowds big enough to sustain having them so the leagues had to be weakened to keep clubs alive? The quality of riders on show will have little impact on new fans as they won't know any of the top names anyway. -
Would have rather seen Belle Vue or Lynn match on the TV last night as this one was a boring watch. Nothing to do with the riders but track was just gate, rung to the dirt, fly into the distance.

Do you know anything is getting 'conveniently brushed under the carpet' or is this pure conjecture. Who are these ' creditors of the old trading company who will have lost out financially'?. Who won't get a penny back? . Perhaps you can clarify with examples what you mean by 'so many business practices are accepted as normal and acceptable' . if this is all assumption then with respect you should keep it to yourself instead of trying to make out the Comets have cheated fictitious creditors out of money.
