I don't think it is a tricky position, Gilkes for Bowes seems the obvious choice -

Got to get rid of Bowes and bring Gilkes back. Have Gilkes at 4 with Lewi and when Cooper hits his proper average you can partner him with Lewi. 1 Lawson 2 Gilkes/Newman 3 Kerr 4 Rushen 5 Cook 6 Cairns 7 Newman/Gilkes Don't need Bowes. -

Just got back and thoroughly enjoyed that. Some very good racing tonight with lots of passing played out in front of a very good sized crowd. A few bones of contention. Bowes being excluded when it looked to all and sundry that Kerr had engine issues. And Wood getting back in when he seemed to fall on his own. Best race was clearly the Lawson last to first but special mention for Kyle who made it happen. Our reserves are both rather good though Cooper currently has the edge. Good rivalry in the same team will bring them both along. As for Bowes, well he had a disastrous meeting. Matt left him in heat 14 and he over tried when it looked like he was going to lead down the back straight. Got to give the lad a chance but Matt doesn’t take any prisoners. Last of all Kyle who tries his heart out every race. If that was his last meeting for Poole, he will be picked up within days. -
Friday 1st May: Edinburgh Monarchs v Berwick Bandits (BSN Series), Armadale, 7:30pm) ROSS ECO TECHNOLOGIES MONARCHS: Dan Thompson, Jonatan Grahn, Justin Sedgmen, Paco Castagna (capt.), Kye Thomson, Mitch Cluff, Jordy Loftus. R.E.D. BANDITS: Peter Kildemand, Jye Etheridge, Victor Palovaara, Lasse Fredriksen, Nick Morris, Jack Smith, Dayle Wood (guest). Happy (but surprised) that Dan is at Armadale rather than Landshut this Friday. And happy that Paco will be there as well after his trip over the fence last week. There were encouraging signs from both reserves guesting at Workington on Sunday, so hopefully they can shut up the moaners unbelievably calling for changes after only a couple of meetings. Bandits will provide stiff opposition and they have Dayle Wood guesting for the injured Reid Battye. This may help them as, although Reid has started off in sensational form, he may have found difficulty in adapting to the tight environs of Armadale - and Dayle has been showing some pretty sensational form too.

Tricky position but Newman seems too be getting his fair share of points in the n2 berth .
