  1. Is it know what happened to Dan Bewleys bike to make it do what it did???
  2. Likely the only financially viable way to have a gp in the UK is to have 2 back to back. UK is an island and not as easy to get to as many other euro countries. Same as why no gp in Australia, and surely with 4 riders deemed good enough to be in the series it deserves a GP.
  3. Is HBOmax pay to view? Thought they took over from last year Discovery+, if that is the case it was £31.99 for month viewing (30 days). Think 30 days will 2x belle Vue plus Manilla....that will do me.
  4. I not a Tai Woffinden fan but acknowledge his racing achievements, and certainly respect his decision to drop out of this years GPs before the season started.
  5. It's a terrible shape for quality speedway racing. Belle Vue Hyde Road was about same lap length but completely different shape and gave top class racing "out of the top drawer". I suppose Northampton fulfills a need.....6 teams in the Premiership.
  6. That's true, would hardly be any other nations in it if I remember rightly.
  7. A fair bit of speedway on You Tube for free, Intercontinental finals 1980's, British Finals 80's & 90's, few heats of PC's WC win on Katowice 1976, some long track and grass.
  8. Saw this morning on breakfast TV news....the BBC is sending an 11 man crew to the world conquer championships to be held soon in Suffolk, somewhere at a pub.
  9. Generally speaking, the winner of SGP2 is way behind a regular GP1 rider. After winning GP2 series and GP after GP getting beat by top riders could demoralise the young lad and set him back. When Martin Vaculick came to GP1 he did well initially....but then didn't bother with GP1 fora few years to give himself time to mature as a rider. He came back into GP1, with more experience, came 2nd in GP1 just couple years ago. Sadly this year not performed too well, maybe he carrying an injury or something. Just after Fricke winning SGP2 came Drabik and Smektala, between them they won 3 GP2 on the trot. Neither of them yet in the GP1 series full time, Jaimon Lidsey the same. I think Jan Kvech was 2nd in GP2 just 3 or 4 years ago, he will come back in 2 or 3 years better then he is now, hes picked up the experience.... it was just too soon for him.
  10. To big a jump too soon for the likes Parnitsky, Przjemski or Cierniak. Few years ago the hot under 21's were Drabik and Smektala....they still not made it. More recent Jaimon Lindsey hasn't made it but Kubera has. There must be someone else in the Polish standings, surely. Someone made a comment sometimes last week that some of the GP riders need a shaking....they treating the GP as an easy way of making pocket money, the real money is in Polish league racing with high points money. I somewhat agree with that. Why risk a big injury in a GP and miss out losing earnings in the league. Zmarzlik is streets ahead of everyone including Kurtz, who is a fast gater but can he pass Zmarzlik like I think Zmarzlik would Kurtz if he really needed to. I doubt it. All others against Zmarzlik hope they can gate him and then he gets stuck behind another rider for a couple laps then they have a chance.
  11. other than being an American I am surprised to see Luke Beckers name. I like him as a rider but dont rate him that well.
