  1. I don’t think there is any problem with Lamberts hunger or desire, he simply is as good as he will ever be and any shortcomings are down to his limitations of ability rather than effort and commitment.

  2. With you on that one Aces51, Lidsey will develop into a good rider he is someone you have to give time to.At Worky last year they showed everyone what can be achieved with the way they handled young Bickley and how he has come on in the Championship because of it.Why do some of the ground work with Lidsey then allow somebody to reap the benefit in the future patience is the word.He is suffering a bit of pressure because other riders in the team are not doing the job they are capable of doing.

  4. Oh bugger, Matt has spent thousands getting in a road grader, etc to level the base and it wasn't necessary!! Why didn't Starry tell Matt that beforehand?

  5. Dissenters ??? Do you not mean paying customers? What a disrespectful way to call paying customers - Most people have work the next morning and want to get home some people have children with them and want to get home maybe you have neither and can take your time after the meeting but for most people that isn’t the case .

  7. Nicks average is now 5.84 so 7.99 to replace him. Or 5.47 to replace Ashley, dropping Kyle to reserve Which one is best I have no idea, it depends who's available I guess

  8. Sorry Trees but I see no future and very little point in keep re-visiting Simon Lambert riding for us or indeed any team at this level. He is what he is, which a decent NL no 1 or at best a CL Reserve ( at certain Clubs). He is no better ( and no worse) than we he was as a 16/17 year old As for going in the bar afterwards, not for me as have very little interest in it and just want to get back on the road to do the 90min journey home.

  9. Elation, actually. Even the QUADROUPLE + Fours, Pairs & Individual Champion. http://www.scunthorpe-speedway.com/?page_id=2840 "I was there" are words that I can use as I have followed Scunthorpe Speedway through thick & thin at Quibell Park & Ashby Ville to the present days at the EWR. I also travelled down to Mildenhall in 2011 & down to Somerset in 2012.

  12. Many thanks for your comments and help about informing me what any mistakes and other information.. I will be added these to the new video going up on YouTube very soon. I will post the new YouTube address and amend the old one as soon as possible. I will be working on a 1976 New national League bib video and also a iconic team version with Wembley, New Cross, Southampton amongst many others I have not made these yet so it will take me a few days.

  14. Danny Halsey was going to be the next big thing at Rye House about ten years ago but he never made the jump to PL standard. I wonder what Mark Blackwell and Sam Dore are doing now.

  15. Yes... I'm one of them. I really think the Promotion missed big time this season. No problem dropping down a league, I personally prefer it, but not having any of those riders is a massive blow. Not on results...but the majority of fans had a ' connection' with those three. This year's team is 'meh'...there is just no connection imo. When a rider makes fans get excited to watch a race...run out of the bar etc, then the promotion imo should take notice. All three you mention had a positive effect on a meeting and it's enjoyment. All we want is a connection, excitement and good racing....otherwise it's just a bunch of blokes going round in circles.

  16. Maybe Starman ran off with it saying 'we don't need it, nothing wrong with the track...'

  17. Kevin Doolan's weekly blog on club website has some interesting info about processional races at the Fours, citing the silencers of the past few years meaning that quality riders on a well-prepared track can't makes passes.

  22. Not a problem Steve it only took a few minutes to make a new White City body bib. i have already started work on the 1976 New National League bibs. The Paisley one looks really nice. I have just updated hopefully the version of the video. I have redrawn the Birmingham, Reading and Sheffield images as I knew I could have done better with them. The new YouTube address in post number 1

  23. Yep, the No.3 has, on paper, tougher rides in the PSC compared to the league.

  24. Friends and Family? Another good promotion by a good promotion. Pity there are so many glass-half-empty punters on this Forum. As an aside, if they advertise a Friends with Benefits night, I'll be there!

  25. The press release just says he steps in for the 2 matches against Redcar, nothing about him being the man to replace Thomas permanently, but I suppose it gives him a chance to impress.

  26. Could be a close one given the line ups and have a big say in the development league title. Think the away side will pinch it though.

  27. I suppose that helps Leicester then as they don’t have to name a replacement and use a guest to suite. Doesn't help Jack though and another reason the ‘ 2 point average’ attraction to clubs was misplaced.

  28. That`s a good question which might be answered if they qualify for the final - if they do i would say it would be 99.99% he would ride for Poland The OP lists the substitute riders- those 3 are no mugs

  29. Well I suppose a rider could look at it two ways, they sacked me so I won't try like some riders at Poole have or think they have sacked but I want to prove I can do it and hope someone notices and signs me for another club.

  30. And something for you to consider , which in your lifetime will more than likely never happen but one can always dream ............ 1. What it would feel like to win the "TREBLE"

  32. Just watched Indianerna v Smederna - cracking racing with a few nasty crashes in front of a big crowd 3623. Well earned away victory for the Eskilstuna team who rode R/R for the ill(?) Prem Pawlicki and included late changes Eklof and Chugunov. MJJ was the star scoring 16 paid 17- the best i have seen him ride for ages. Kumla on the night were just not good enough- Pepe had a nasty crash in heat 8 and didn`t appear again.

  34. Not really, there have been changes but not to the degree of making a fundamental difference, a speedway machine is 90% the same as it was in 2010. They are using lighter materials like titanium for a very small improvement, exhausts were the main change that effected power. I would accept the difference between an upright and a lay down is very different. On your comment 'Dont go then', I for one don't, at least this season anyway, so comments like that don't help your case, that is exactly the problem PEOPLE HAVE STOPPED GOING. Remember I have more reason to go than the average fan mainly to do with Leon

  35. Booked time off to go to this but have since cancelled that. While I think the track will improve after the recent work, I think the first match could be worse than ever especially in the 30 degree heat. Add to that we are abysmal away from NSS. I can see Poole hitting 60 easy today. Especially if we have sacked riders before the meeting and asked them to ride tomorrow. They wont try.

  36. Unless Wells thinks he's riding for Peterborough we will be ok! Fricke and Bjerre will be good for double figures and Bewley could do well but Steve Worrall seems to be struggling along with Berge and Lidsey who i can't see troubling the scorers too much so a easy win on the cards.

  37. A great video i wish those race jackets were about today they are one way of preserving the club's history.Have to say Halifax and Wolverhampton have to be my favourites not impressed with the Leicester one that year i always loved there original one.

  38. Think that sounds a plan Tell. Maybe Peterborough fans could start a campaign to get Simon back in the Team. Maybe get the T shirts printed with Simon Lambert Our Wanted. Or just SLOW

  40. Joe Lawlor and Connor Coles would be better options than Phillips. Both have improvement in them. They might not score a load of points at the minute but could still weigh in with 3 or 4 and that can make a difference.

  41. I thought kent looked unbeatable pre season however they dont ride on paper, spooner has way too many pile ups and jenkins has been v moderate

  42. I get the UK over USA thing, nobody wants to see an English rider lose his place But Broc Nicol is quite a big improvement on Simon Lambert

  43. Lidsey is currently 17th in the averages for the Polish third division, just below Berge. Inexperienced riders who come straight into the top league in the UK and score 6/7 home and away are very few and far between. Also, thinking that every track is the same if you get out of the gate first overlooks the need to know where the grip is, the fastest lines, having the right set up, not just at the start of the meeting but also as the track changes. That all comes with experience of racing on those tracks. My assessment is that Lidsey will develop into a good rider and possibly much better than that. It's all about opinions but some are expecting too much from him at this stage of his development.

  44. Lidsey is an obvious talent. We should remember it's his first season in the UK. He will gain from the experience and then we shall gain the benefit in the long term.

  45. I wonder what sort of season we would be having had the fans choice of: Jake Allen, Charles Wright & Bradley Wilson Dean had been included in the 2019 team? They all have carried on improving & scoring plenty of points. There are defiantly some missing faces in the crowd..........
