  1. "committed exclusively to British racing between March and October". I think you will find that's restraint of trade & I doubt that a club will be able to show that it has been signed to protect confidential information, trade secrets, client relationships or goodwill. Therefore would be unenforceable. Also do you seriously expect a rider to forgo higher value contracts in Poland, Sweden or even Denmark for 40 UK meetings? Say a top rider is on a guarantee of £3k a meeting thats £120k per year for a mechanic, three bikes, van, diesel, spares and servicing. I think most riders would turn that down. You need to remember that is it no longer 1968, the world and even speedway has moved on
  2. Drew looks to be turning the corner this season with the Lions.
  3. The phrase I hate is a big 5-1. For it to be big some 5-1's must be smaller. Its not big it significant, strategic or important. Ahhhhhhhh rant over.
  4. I drove through 20cm of water in Rothley at 13:45 today about 4 miles from the track as the cow fly’s. On the way back I passed through Beaumont Leys and it was very wet. It would appear a great early call off stopping both clubs picking up airfares and other additional costs that would happen with a later call off. Great call by the club
  5. Are you really suggesting promoters cannot tell the time? How can some clubs manage it? It comes down to the will of the promotion.
  6. It is now. Its the licencing body's responsibility to inform the riders licencing body of a head injury. Even the PZM have agreed to this as was explained at this seasons training day at Rugby.
  7. No you haven't. There is no fence standing on the second bend. The most damage done by a crash was having to replace 1.5m of fence not an entire bend. It would be lovely to see you at the stadium when the request for fans assistance goes out.
  8. They are not doing that. Jason mentioned how long it takes to complete the paperwork.
  9. So some positive news last night at the NSSC event with Jason Edwards. He has met the new owners who have experience in lots of other motorsport classes, the new team manager and said that he thinks with the team that they have they will be challanging for Silverwear again this season. So all sounds positive for Ipswich.
  10. I will stand by the figures I quoted. Netball has the highest level of income per viewer of any sport broadcast in the UK. It attracts 1.5 to 3 times the live viewers of speedway. The figures that are quoted for speedway incude non UK streaming on Discovery+ whcih should not be included in a like for like comparison.
  11. Kemp has put the greatest percentange on his starting average at Leicester (based on the October Averages) and has put the largest amount on his starting average. Up 0.89 in comparison to Douglas +0.82 and Fricke +0.75.
  12. I just have a feeling in my gut that Leicester can nick this.
  13. But the rain runs off the track taking shale with it and then contaminating the playing surface on the inside. Multi Sport stadiums will not entertain speedway as it makes a mess, leads to moise complaints, and a large amount of the stadium footprint is only used for a monority sport. The way to develop new facilities is find brownfield sites where you can develop a number of motorsport activities in a model not disimiliar to the Redcar facility. However the larger the town/city tend to have the most valueable land so perhaps Speedway future is more aligned to smaller towns like Kings Lynn or Workington with between 20-50,000 locals.
