Steve if you think woffinden would put a few more hundred people on the gate at wolves, you are dreaming..4 points

I think we should step back from some of the detail here and look at the bigger picture. We have a club with a long history returning to the top flight, on it's traditional race night, being lead by a former world champion. This is to be celebrated by all speedway fans. And we can only hope that many former Sheffield fans will see these developments as a good enough reason to come back into the fold. Well done Sheffield. I look forward to seeing you on track.4 points

Don’t get the dislike for Mr Phillips. His sponsorship has probably kept the Diamonds afloat for 2 years.3 points

To be fair a think there's a fair few that preferred it if you stuck to your own thread also?! First and final time I comment on a lower league sides thread ......3 points

I see Rob ride at Swindon earlier in the season and boy he looked quick he had one dodgy fall in one race but his gating was electric. The one thing that struck me about him in the pits was his enthusiasm and he also was a really nice bloke to speak to.He will be great for team moral and great to have around the younger members of the team really hope he has a great 2020 season.3 points

Glad to see things looking good for the Diamonds, i have a lot of time for the majority of the fans down that way. Have met a few over the years and are a good bunch, good to get this news and happy for the fans knowing things look ok .2 points

Im only discussing skidders statement.................'dont cry for me Argentina' This could be Covatti or Garcia...........and inmy opinion Garcia would be a poor signing But if you dont have the same view as others then you arent allowed to comment2 points

Why does it really matter? It's a thread on a speedway forum not the formulae for world peace2 points

Can I ask are you a fan of Newcastle who went to every meeting? If yes then I can't understand you saying you want Martin Phillips completely gone. Without Martin you would not have been able to have to watch your speedway that's a fact, so think about what you write before open your mouth.......2 points

I recall some years ago that it was stated in the Speedway Star that NP was the only rider that would draw in extra fans on the gate, having a much greater effect than Woffinden who, it was said, would make little difference. Well done Sheffield!2 points

I think moving forward hopefully the higher league clubs will all start to have some development side as a feeder. even if neighbour clubs entered a joint side sharing home fixtures. It may cost promoters a little in the short term but looking long term it has to be cheaper to have a pool of local lads ready for the big leagues rather then importing riders. Equally a strongly supported NL gives potential new stand alone clubs a viable league to set out in, which in turn can only strengthen speedway across the board. For the pinicle of the the sport to be stable the foundations need to be solid. I actually think if the BSPA were to get the NL back of a couple of years ago, when it was by far the best the league in the country. Get everything around the National League set up right and then adapt the sport moving up the levels accordingly2 points

Because all of them are subsidized (sorry if mispeled) by the city/region/goverment. Thats how ALL sport works in Poland. Krakow for an example had an overgrown footie pitch in the middle. Some track are busy, some tracks are only for the "top team". No difference to any other country. And Wroclaw has the American football to use. It's all VERY different to UK. Thats all I know.1 point

I'm going to record this shortly under 'Australasian Championships' (suitably qualified,) on the Speedway Champions website, - seems the most appropriate place. http://www.speedwaychampions.com/--australasia.php1 point

I hope Morley gets a shot. He’ll be excellent at home and knows enough away tracks now to be useful and on 3.71 he could be the senior reserved alongside Ledwith. I’m sure he’d score more than at Eastbourne last season seeing as he’d be at a track he knows inside out and be lower down the order so less pressure on him.1 point

Doesnt matter if they are on this section to me Must hurt though seeing riders like Doyle , Batch and Pedersen getting fixed up while your team is in the lower tier1 point

Yes maybe I was being a little harsh. Perhaps allow posters to comment on any thread but NOT to mention Poole on any non-Poole thread unless its an 'every-team' topic!! Deal or No Deal?1 point

i certainly don't like some of the names being mentioned .but i never wanted to drop down anyway still that's water under the bridge1 point

Any significance in this? Companies House has a new company called Newcastle Diamonds formed as a limited company in November 2019. The director is Alexander Robert Grant of Ponteland1 point

IF Newcastle do get a new investor Im sure the public will give him / her / them at least a season to get things sorted. They are behind with team building due to the uncertainty but all the genuine fans need to realise how close they came to not having a team at all to support. The new investor will have taken on the club knowing full well that Speedway teams don't usually make money so I for one will be backing him / her / them for simply keeping the sport going on Tyneside.1 point

If there is a NL then Kent will be in it, UNLESS they bring in any silly rules. With 6 away fixtures between Poole, Somerset and Brum on weds that opens almost enough free dates for the NL fixtures.1 point

If all teams had a Danny Ayres in there team the championship would be better for it, that's for sure......1 point
