  1. I mechaniced for him in 2019 and I was paid in full, was given pit clothes free of charge, he paid all my expenses when on the road and even gave me his race jacket as a gift at the end of the season, so no he’s never stole from me

  2. I cannot see firstly that Hancock should have the headline as it is obviously between all the southern Track promoters , and secondly I cannot believe that this is not an option for all clubs to admit season ticket reduction on visitors to the tracks . It would encourage more season ticket sales and encourage supporters to travel more

  3. Ben Morley must be wondering what he’s done wrong to not be in the team on 3.91 but Ledwith is in on 4.00. Btw it’s a crazy assessment giving him a 4.00. He clearly should be a 2.00 by coming up through up the NL, where he was barely a heat leader in reality. How he can have a higher assessed average for a higher league is just ridiculous!

  4. Ben Barker was a breath of fresh air at Scunthorpe and I wish him well ,as for the comments about him how childish.Quote facts rather than Bull **it

  5. What people forget is that Ben Morley has ridden the last 2 seasons in the Championship at No 2 for both Lakeside & Eastbourne averaging around the 4 point mark. No doubt a stint in the reserve berth would see his average gain at least a 1 to 1.5 points on top of that . It’s not rocket science that for teams to be successful you need riders to up there average which Ben would do riding at 6 or 7 for the Kings. He loves the Central Park track & like his stint at both Lakeside & Eastbourne his home average would be above 7 a meeting. As they say it’s horses for courses and Ben would no doubt take a few heat leader scalps riding around Central Park.

  6. And how many teams had a better number one that Max Fricke last year? Just Swindon.

  7. "I am grateful to my fellow promoters from these clubs to agree to try this scheme for the forthcoming season". Dan Ford I don't think it really matters. All 4 clubs have been smart and sensible and hopefully further agreements can come into place to help each other.

  9. Adams would have a lot of explaining to do to fans (especially if we get off to a bad start)why he's built a team #2 points under the limit, and sacrificing such an advantage.

  10. As a 21-year-old we consume sport through social media. For example, the NBA has grown so much because you can see highlights on all social media. If you want to grow the sport you need a new generation of fans and social media is a great way of doing that. Social media might get them through the gate for one meeting and then who knows what could happen.

  14. If BWD comes in I think his converted average makes him numero uno. Isn’t it something like 8.7 not sure. Can’t see him achieving that.

  15. Fairly sure there was something similar 15 - 20 years ago where ST holders got a couple of quid off entry or a free programme. But I think it was only when your team were riding there.. Just had an idea. Why don't the BSPA issue an annual photo ID for say £50. Which gives the holder a £1 reduction on entry to any track for any meeting except for shared events. All profits after admin fees to the Ben Fund.

  19. Ledwith was a poor signing on a 2.point average on a 4 its a joke ,,can they now change him for Ben Morley who would score miles more than Ledwith around Kent...??

  20. Had a few mate!!! Head don't feel too good today. It's a struggle now I've hit 40!! You will probably need a few to today to numb the pain of Everton getting a mauling!!! Now I'm sober I have realised that I was actually chatting to Rosco's new cleaner who is Czech and called Jan. Silly me.

  21. Can anyone explain how Ledwith has been given a higher assessed average in the Championship than the assessed average he was given in the lower National league? Surely his average should be based on the year before in the NL same as other riders.

  22. Redcar don't have a problem with Ben, he was tough to manage as a team rider but him guesting towards the end of the year shows their relationship. pitstop84 knows alot more than alot of you on here that's for sure!

  25. I am a big fan of Ledwith. What makes you think he is not capable of filling a reserve berth adequately ? By the way, the news of Covatti and Starke is to be applauded. Side is solid, may or may not get any silverware, but the management have said quite clearly that we should not expect to win things in our first season. Fair comment IMO.

  26. Get rid of Ledwith then Kent has a potential title challenging side.

  27. Agree. He's 8.5 without having ridden in heat 13 or 15 much last season (it matters). Riding at 1 he'll struggle to average 7 IMO. But no point in complaining about the team. It is what it is and money aside and starting after everyone else aside we're just not an attractive proposition to the majority of riders.

  33. I agree largely but feel that Kurz is at the stage of development where this is where he kick's on. Remember Fricke was similarly inconsistent and unconvincing in 2017 but last year kicked on to be a proper number one. Some of the improvement was down to the consistently good state of the track. He never misses an opportunity to praise the NSS and how much he likes riding it. From watching Kurtz on televised meetings at Poole, he looked uncomfortable on that frankly dreadful track. We will see!

  41. You think Adam Ellis is 6.5 rider? He is a 6.49 rider alone in prem. by that logic if he had not rode at Bham he would come in on 10.38. Would not surprise me to see Adam Ellis average 9 this season in the champ.

  46. KEY DATE AHEAD FOR MULTI-MILLION POUND OXFORD STADIUM PLAN OXFORD STADIUM could be revitalised by a £20-25 million investment which would include the return of Oxford Cheetahs – if the exciting plans of Nick Budimir come to fruition. The South Coast businessman revealed his intentions to supporters at a packed Chequers pub in Headington Quarry on Tuesday night, with his financier Peter Webb also in attendance, along with Alex Hollingsworth from Oxford City Council and former Oxford East MP Andrew Smith. Budimir would restore the stadium to full operation, with greyhounds, speedway and ancillary activities as part of his business plan, along with a small number of homes on the site. However, a major date is just ahead in the campaign to bring the decaying stadium back to life – when the planning inspectorate consider the Oxford Local Plan for the next generation ahead. The current stadium owners have a very different idea to Mr. Budimir when it comes to the future of the stadium - which would involve Galliard Homes developing the entire site for housing and spell the end of hopes of a return of speedway and greyhounds. The public have a crucial role to play on Tuesday, December 10th, from 10am to 1pm, when they can show the level of support for Mr. Budimir’s vision for the stadium to the planning inspectorate at the King’s Centre, Osney Mead, Oxford, OX2 0ES, as part of the overall hearing regarding the Oxford Local Plan. Legal representative Steven Sensecall, employed by the Save Oxford Stadium campaign group, will be putting forward a defence of why the stadium should remain. Budimir told supporters: “I don’t want to go into a gunfight armed with a knife. We are going in with a gun to take on Galliard and win this battle.” The council have approved the use of a CPO (Compulsory Purchase Order) should it be necessary, if the planning inspectorate rule in the favour of Budimir’s plans. Save Oxford Stadium chairman Ian Sawyer urged: “We need as many people as possible at the King’s Centre in Osney Mead between 10am and 1pm on December 10th, for the local plan hearing, because it’s vital that people show to the planning inspectors the level of enthusiasm behind Nick Budimir’s plans and how much passion there is for the stadium. “We need fans along there with their tee-shirts or jackets or scarves or anything which shows their support. “If Nick’s plans come to fruition it would be brilliant for fans of the Oxford Cheetahs, greyhound enthusiasts and the whole community. “The council have been very supportive, but they’ve done all they can for now – it’s the general public who can show the level of support to the planning inspectorate on December 10th.” Speedway came to a halt after 59 successive seasons at Sandy Lane following the 2007 season, with greyhounds also ceasing in 2012. Oxford City Council subsequently placed both heritage status and conservation status on the stadium, which have tied the hands of the stadium owners, in terms of any housing development on the site.

  47. Always difficult, the 2 point rule promotes opportunities for riders to prove themselves at CL level which is always a plus however because it exists the majority of the top fives are a higher standard so the gap is greater than ever before. An obvious option would be to reduce the points limit for team building but that just leads to natural inflation of averages rather than improvement from improved results. Riders stepping up need to do so because they are at the required level and not just because their averages fit.

  48. Nailed it. The sport needs to decide what it wants as a long term. If it is to have a higher standard at top domestic and world level then it needs to be a higher standard throughout, expecting a reduced level NL to be a viable stepping stone to s strong CL & PL is just madness. There already riders in the NL that should be dev leagues only and likewise dev league riders that should be amateur scene only. If the demand is for an inclusive sport that is open to all abilities then fine but i don't here many fans calling for that.

  50. Hopefully it goes ahead although more likely (hopefully) to be a team of Brits who have wintered in AUS rather than a selected squad sent over at additional cost.
