If he's inconsistent at 8..43 that'll do me He'll be on a 4 but is still riding grass pretty good. A surprise signing, but a good gamble to have to only beat a 4 average and could be a match winner. One minute people are decrying the loss of the club hoping someone will come in, and then when someone does "I don't think I'll go or I'll just and choose me meetings.5 points

Personally I think it’s a good start considering how late we are, I remember seeing James around brough once and I said that I thought he would go far, I haven’t been for a while due to family reasons but looking at the side and the potential for the last 2 I think it might be time to return4 points

Grondal missed the whole of the 2019 GB season because no one wanted to sign him. He was fit enough to ride eight matches in Denmark but was not signed by a GB club then. No reduction is due, any more than it is for Tom Bacon, Josh Bates or Richie Worrall.4 points

Its long overdue this thread being moved. I certainly won’t miss certain posters in this section- although they seem to be doing what they ridiculed Gavan for when Ipswich were in the second tier3 points

As wonderful and worthwhile as the whole concept of the BEN Fund is I've never understood the rush to get this meeting on so early. Often affected by weather, fans put off from travelling so early in the season. Would like to think that all Promoters could agree and support a set day that was suitable and a central location in middle of the season. What about day before (replacing CLPairs) or day after Cardiff GP at Swindon or Somerset to get biggest possible crowd and best possible UK based field?3 points

A typical blue tint response. And a flawed response. Doyle wasn’t young when he rode for Poole. I stand by my point however tho what that has to do with Wolves is baffling. Wolves have in general been loyal to riders which is a different position to Poole anyway. But feel free naming riders that got better when leaving Wolves to make your point. I’ll even start you with one, Musielak. And you are still trying to defend that dreadful track?? Good luck championship fans, welcome to the world of the blue tints.3 points

Really pleased Newcastle are coming to the tapes for 2020. I know what it was like last year for us Bandits fans wondering if we would be seeing speedway in 2019, it's not a nice situation to be in. Your team is now taking shape and with over 12pts to play with for last 2 places a decent looking team is shaping up. Good luck to Granty nice to see another young promoter in place.2 points

Well the team on paper looked good this season. & Apart from the 2 returnees we were poor .. so let's all give young rob a million % backing on this season ahead or if we do ever run into trouble cash wise that could spell the end of speedway at Newcastle si let's be positive on next season as we are racing again happy days ahead2 points

This forum is about opinions, you have yours Dave, I've said mine. I've ' supported ' a number of new promotions over the years and not decryed anything but my pension will be spent wisely. I'll be there at the start as I may get a surprise, let's hope so .2 points

Ray Duggan was killed along with Norman Clay in the same race in 1950 in Sydney. Eddie Rigg was in the same crash that took Ken's life but Eddie died much later....not sure what year.2 points

Find it difficult to see how mediocre Polish riders would help either the team or budget. A plethora of mediocre home grown riders abound2 points

Don't see Danny King as a decent no 1 at this level. If anybody does it shows how the sport has declined. Iversen would be a different matter2 points

I think I have the no.1 down to the following Bjerre - enticed with more money Lindgren - enticed with more money Holder - agreed deal just visa issues Milik - enticed with money Vaculik - enticed with more money Lebvedes - enticed with money Michelsen - enticed by Klindt and the offer of more money Harris - come back and put a few points on your average, offered less money2 points

Yea looking forward to watching speedway at Redcar,Berwick, Newcastle, belle vue, even Glasgow also doing gp at Cardiff and Warsaw, so got a busy season even though I have no home team, and FYI I did the same after 1981 when we closed then. How many away fixtures do you go to ?2 points

You seem to know an awful lot about it Tosh, would you care to elaborate or like Boris Johnson will you duck scrutiny. By the way never say never.2 points

You think it would make sense to name the big name on the news? Rather than in a room full of people who presumably already go to the speedway... Would reach a wider audience... Maybe people who have forgotten about the sport over the last few years... Really hope it's big news!! As announcing Danny and ludvig on the news will hardly excite people back...2 points

What space it gets its irrelevant when only the speedway community is reading it. Let's not pretend others are engaging with it outside of speedway, or certainly if they are its hardly having the desired effect. And I'm repeating myself now, that community are getting a little pissed off about it. If the team is done, the just announce it. Pretty straightforward stuff.2 points

I'm told KK has returned back to the table. Panthers officials have told KK that once Labour are elected on Thursday, and once the 2nd referendum takes place, and the country vote Remain. The pound will rise by 25% against the Euro. This has covered the shortfall between KK's demands and the Panthers' budget. So whether KK joins depends on the election result on Thursday.2 points

U could say that about alot of clubs, what goes around comes around, if a club reports a loss of a £ 100,000 in a season does that not make them riddled with debt?2 points

the point being that averages are misleading. Having not ridden in the majority of heat 13 and 15's last season whilst third heatleader for Glasgow, Vissing will now be in both heats week in week out. Who knows he might have still averaged above 8 had he rode in those heats last season so he might retain his average but he'll have to defeat better riders to do so now he's our #1.1 point

At 8.43 cant to too inconsistent ,there are No1’ last season who didn’t achieve that average.1 point

The first post i saw was from stevebrum saying "Riders generally do improve when they move away from Poole" Was there another one before that then where it said every rider ?1 point

The main question now, is James Wright 2.00 or 4.00? (Last rode for Glasgow in 2013, achieving a 6.66 average, Rob Ledwith's 20+ year average stood so I imagine this one might and he'll be on a 4.00 rather than a 2.00?) If it's 2.00 we have 14.12 to play with If it's 4.00 we have 12.12 to play with At least it looks like we'll have strong reserves James could be the signing of the year if he's a 2.00... Don't know very much about him tbh... Hope he's on a 2.00 so we can fit Rene in and still have 6.93 to play with... Whoever that may be 1. Claus Vissing 8.43 DEN 2. Max Clegg 4.92 GBR 3. 4. Matthew Wethers 6.92 AUS 5. 6. Connor Mountain 4.61 GBR 7. James Wright 2.00 GBR Fill in the blanks... 14.12 to play with1 point

DC2. Poole are now in a lower league. Swindon are champions. Fact. Poole have won far more Top league titles than Swindon. Fact Swindon in theChampionship (equivalent) were great entertainment. My family went every week. Speedway is a great sport and I trust Swindon will carry on the great work Rosco has done. ExExeter Weymouth and Poole with a Poole wife) About time you spent more time on your own team I think but only my opinion. anyway, Merry Christmas.1 point

Yes, Sidney, it was the scratch race final at New Cross. Ron Johnson ran into the fence on the back straight and fell. With less than two yards separating him and Tom, the latter had little time to take avoiding action, though those that were there that night say that Tom deliberately tried his best to turn away from his fallen skipper, choosing instead to plough into his machine. Tom and his bike were thrown into the air and flung a considerable distance before Tom landed on his head. Both riders were rushed to hospital, where Tom sadly died.1 point

Who mentioned a big name? YOU... It’s actually ridiculous how annoying it is sitting here reading you going on and on about big names because it will end up with loads of Newcastle fans disappointed with their first 1-7 under new management because you have kept going on about huge names1 point

So why does Lindgren's website have a section for his SGB Premiership team with TBA written in? Has it been there since he left or is it a new thing? Does it mean anything? Interesting.1 point
