  5. I'll try a remember as much as I can about last night. A very very good turnout. I'd say about 500 On entrance everybody got a raffle ticket, if your number was picked out you got to announce the signings. Great idea I thought, good interaction with fans and good use of getting us involved. They announced remaining 5 riders, each rider did a mini video wishing us fans well. Charles wright and stevie worrall was in attendance. Stevie had his metal plates removed last week so leg should be 100% next season. Charles cant wait to get going and ride for his local club A lot of stuff going on behind the scenes commercially. Richard Cotton of rentruck stepping away as lead club sponsor but will be still involved with belle vue. Thanks richard for your continued support for the last 6 years or so. We are now going to be known as the Bellevue "bike right" aces. So welcome JBL to your ee role as team sponsor. They should be able to announce more sponsors soon. The NL is costing belle vue alot of money but they will still carry thisnon next year. There is an AGM this monday which will hopefully confirm the NL as running. We will only do the league and not cup fixtures etc. They have 7 riders signed and will announce once sorted The new owners are signing a long term lease on the stadium and not a year on year one which they have been going. They are dedicated to make speedway work and love the sport. So some good news Adrian as been in talks to hold some FIM events. Which he Hope's to announce soon. Said we will all be happy. We have the british final and an FIN world U21 qualifier. We will start with the peter craven meeting as usual and hope to have a war of the roses trophy up for grabs. So a 2 legged match before season kicks off. They are working on available dates The fixtures have been sorted a month earlier this year and should be announced in new year, clubs have done it so no team has long breaks without meetings in the season The management will be on holiday for 4 weeks from monday. So if they dont reply to emails etc dont worry That's about all I can remember.

  6. Time this thread was locked and Poole related topics were discussed on the CL2020 thread.

  7. To my knowledge, they weren't lies. Laura Morgan genuinely believed that she had the additional backing to enable the Comets to run, only for that backing to pull out. What happened wasn't her fault.

  9. Cheating is stopping a rider completing all his meetings to keep him at reserve, loophole for some, cheating for others.

  11. pretty poor comments about our former owner . maybe you should give the promoting lark a go and see how far you get ! i THINK only mason did not get a team place in 2019 and a few teams gained quality riders from Workingtons misfortune . lies , , ask godders about them . he is great at stuff like that ..... paying a visit to your field in 2020 . hope its as good as you say . your user name still suits you . tho i would replace the H with SER . .... a proper user name for someone like yourself LOL .

  12. Can't think who would have done that.

  13. Many teams will have a similar problem. I actually think we will be ok on the road. Swindon last season were awful away until the later stages when it really mattered. You only need to pick up odd points so long as your home form is solid

  14. It could be because they have signed riders that rode on a track that didn't suit them or that they were carrying injuries. You sign riders hoping that they will improve. We have signed 2 in Jorgensen & Aarnio with the view that they will improve. Similar to what we did in 2019 signing Lambert who struggled at Newcastle, riding on the open spaces at the EWR & getting his confidence back.

  15. He is on a low average for a reason.

  16. So that's why they left the monarchs! Thanks for confirming what we all knew, the Armadale track isn't 'perfect'

  17. Proctor has plenty to prove, he is at reserve for a reason but should make hay there early on looking at some of the other reserves around. If his confidence and his shoulder are in good nick from the off he could put two points on his starting figure. You can certainly see why he has been signed on that figure. Assuming Cook and Riss return and Robert can get back to his 2018 form or near to it then we have very capable heat leaders and a good reserve which gives the side a good structure. Disappointed MPT won’t be back and Kerr and Jorgensen have to improve from poor seasons to warrant their inclusion and for the team to finish top four. The final signing will be crucial, it needs to be somebody who can contribute consistently as the number seven position has been troublesome for far too long.

  18. It looked like Riss, but it's Proctor.I think that can only be a good move on the average he is currently on.Obviously he will be starting at reserve which should be beneficial to himself and the Stars.

  19. You mean Poole are going to do "an Ellis" and have 3 topics running when they drop into the NL in 2021?

  25. I thought Cook filled the Puk void quite well last season while recognising he had one or two dodgy meetings and that he can probably improve in 2020 with more meetings at Lynn.

  27. All the lies about running For 2019 Speedway wont return due to your ex promoter messing to many people around Also feel For Mason Compton great rider and let down by Laura Morgan She let 7 Riders down 8 weeks before the season started

  28. There is no scenario in where starting 2 points under the building limit can be justified. Wolves are fortunate that 3 teams will likely be worse. It's still remarkable though that they have built this way. Not something I'll ever understand

  31. Ignore what certain people say Tobiasz wasn't going to riding over here this year so pointless anyone bleating on about him.....DC2 accusing anyone of saying daft things is pure irony considering the bilge he comes out with! 'Doyle no class'...Crump senior a 'journeyman'...Ricky Wells a top 5 rider?...rest my case

  32. Is one bad year to get Douglas, Becker, Nicol, Morris to further adapt their skills home and away. It could be that the management are looking short term pain, long term gain. Trying to build a spin in the team for the next 5 years or so is no bad tactic. If the Americans live up to their obvious potential they could (and I think will) be the next Hamill & Hancock. I believe the management won't give up on 2020 but I'd certainly allow to give them a bit of a break and look to 2021 and beyond. One thing the Wolverhampton management are good at and that's longevity of rider's and seeing beyond the current season with building teams. Poole were a force with their future relient on Ward & Holder. Swindon are a force when they have Doyle & Batchelor in the same team generally regardless of who else is in the team. I think Wolves are pinning their hopes on very similar coming to fruition, there's no shame in that. Enjoy watching "The American Assassin's" at work.

  34. If it's Iversen it's a massive kick in the plumbs for King's Lynn more than anyone. Recent history has shown that when available for a full season King's Lynn is his choice. Having said that, I think some crossed words happened at the end of the 2018 season at King's Lynn during the Play-Off's and Niels hasn't forgive nd or forgot.

  37. My side has not got enough definite heat winners? So you don’t think Doyle, Jensen, Ellis and Musielak would win heats or Proctor/Pickering and Stewart at reserve? You do say some daft things.
    1 point
  38. Which is what I have said previously , he left Kings Lynn and he continued his downward plunge at Peterborough and I am far from convinced he is any better than his current average although he will no doubt win races at reserve but as soon as he goes in to the main body he will struggle.

  39. I would hardly say the reason we finished top in 2018 are the first four signings we’ve made this year. the team is piss poor, it was this year, will be next year.
    1 point
  40. Those three could be the future of Wolves i like all of them more improvement to come. Like ourselves at Swindon Rowe/ Stewart could be part of a longterm strategy and we might have a bit of short term pain with them but longterm we could reap the benefits.

  41. Good team, Dan doing well down under and if he brings that into next eason can we expect and increase of at least 1 point to his starting average ?. Stevie had a bad 2019 by his standards, if his 2018 injuries are out of the way now, then that's another point to add to the overall average. Jaimon could be our biggest climber, if he can improve his away form, then I see no reason why we can't be pushing Swindon for top spot.Killer is capable, but will he diliver, only time will tell So my hopes for our 2020 team are 1 B Kurtz........................+0.50 2 S Worrall......................+1.00 3 C Wright.......................+ 0.25 D Bewley.........................+ 1.0 P Kildermand..................??? J Lidsey...........................+2.0 J Etheridge......................0.0???

  42. Better 2nd strings and better reserves. Heat leaders not as strong. It's similar in strength but the distribution of said strength is more even. I also think there is more scope for improvement. Dan and Steve will have less pressure, more so Dan who will not be starting as the 3rd heat leader. Lots on resting on PK. If he gets anywhere near the rider he can be then I make us favourite.

  43. Not quite getting this. How does being two points under the limit help individual riders to increase their averages? And if they collectively put on two points and increase to 42.5 Woffinden and Lindgren could only come in on a like for like basis to replace the top two riders (Masters or Thorssell) if they had increased their averages to 9.5. Are you really suggesting that Wolves would sack Masters or Thorssell if they put 2 points each on their averages?

  44. Well buying a 10 match ticket was easy enough, fill in a form and email it back. BACS transfer the money. Done

  45. Saw Douglas and Nicol in the CL at Eastie last year, both were fantastic having never riden our awkward/tight track before. From the outside the fact you've got riders who could be the backbone of your team for seasons to come can only be good. I understand being under 2 points grates for some, but long term looks the right way to me, only shame is Nichol isn't doubling with us at Eastie. I'm sure all 3 will up their average this season too, playoffs the aim first, then who knows, Wolves have done it before as we know to our cost, 2002 still annoys me!

  46. Fingers crossed we come out of monday with a 7 plus team league, sensible points limit, and the continuation of what has been the best breeding ground for young brits in many years. If Mondays conclusion is not favourable how many young brits with have expensive shiny ornaments sat on thier workbench, how much young talent would slip away from the sport. Mondays meeting is genuinely up there as one of the most important meetings for the future of british speedway that there has been for generations. Fingers crossed it all works out well. NL is the lifeblood of speedway in the uk.

  48. Glad you are still enjoying speedway after the closure. Since you ask, I'm a season ticket holder at Berwick. A mixture of finances and family circumstances mean I get to very few away meetings, but I did get to Cardiff and Wroclaw this year. Probably much the same next year, minus the GP's.

  49. Probably the best deal in British Speedway, AGAIN ! Well done Berwick Speedway
    1 point
  50. You can tell it must be a decent deal because there isn't pages of whinging. Supporters of any other club would be shouting about this, but with Berwick it's met with silence. Speedway for less than £13, nobody else in the league can compete with that. Good offer for the kids as well, making the night out affordable for families as well.
