I decided to post this here because although it’s something that effects the Premiership aswell (Belle Vue) it is certainly proving to be a bigger stumbling block for the Championship sides with Birmingham, Berwick and now Plymouth. I called for it before and am amazed that this problem wasn’t foreseen by the promoters and the rule setters in this country. It’s certainly too late to do anything about it this year and change the rules this close to the season… although stranger things have happened! With the way of the world, flight uncertainties and rising air fares/costs, visas and just general lack of rider availability I seriously think that 6 man teams would help with this going forward - that’s without mentioning what will happen once injuries start occurring this year as there just isn’t a pool of riders to come in and replace anybody. This has to be something that happens for 2023.3 points

Also we are now seeing the long term effects of doubling up, which stopped the progress of numerous riders who then couldnt get a team spot so dropped out of the sport, most of the current issues within the sport have been self inflicted by the BSPL who live for the here and now but its rapidly becoming then and now, with the now becoming smaller and smaller and less and less viable.3 points

How is it poor? Comparing to last year..... Fricke is a like-for-like replacement for Bewley. Kurtz, Wright, Brennan and Etheridge are the same people. So the comparison is that you think Lebedevs and Blodorn are much poorer than Worrall and Worrall? I'm not sure I'd agree. I'd suggest they may be stronger.... Last year BV finished runners-up to Peterborough. But while BV are stronger this year, Pbro are weaker due to experienced super-reserve Pedersen being replaced by inexperienced Basso, and all the other old-guard being another year older. The only problem is that some of the other 4 teams may be stronger, and I'd say that applies mainly to Sheffield.2 points

Or you simply wait until you know: 1. How many teams in the league. 2. What riders are available. 3. Then set the points limit to suit.2 points

Lemon said he hoped Jye would get in the main body of the team when he is already in the main body!! Not sure Lemon has grasped that Blodorn and Brennan will start at reserve.2 points

This doesn’t include sports, so I cancelled mine and took out the full service for £29.99 when the offer was on.1 point

Steve even though the weather can be a bit iffy even in the height of summer you need to pop down. Failing that make a guest appearance up north1 point

It seems that wasn't too evident at Glasgow, and it wasn't evident in his last spell at Birmingham either. So, what did it take to upset him so much then? It's not like he lives his life on a hair-trigger from what his times at Glasgow and Birmingham show. And in any case, who would you rather have riding for you, someone with some fire and passion or someone placid and laid-back?1 point

12 programmed heats and 3 nominated as I remember. Think one rider was nominated as a reserve could take extra rides possibly?1 point

We do have a decent Team on paper. At least the Promotion have make an attempt to give the supporters something different which I applaud them for. It’s just a case of wait and see what happens on the track.1 point

There was never a 'problem' with Berwick. The delay was the promotion giving their preferred option all the time possible to decide whether he would ride or not. Attracting a rider was never a 'problem'.1 point

Why is it "reasonable" when the costs of bread milk, groceries, clothes and other essentials isn't reduced? To say it's "reasonable" implies a logical thought process that presumably comes out of a sense of entitlement. That "entitlement" comes at the cost of the people whose incomes are reduced for the custom of such "entitled" people. I spoke to a promoter a few years ago, whose headline adult admission cost was £15 (shows how long ago it was lol) but whose "average revenue per person" was only £11 after all the concessions had been factored in. Assuming an attendance of 1,000, that's £4 per person, or £4,000 that's being lost to the business every week. I'm sure that those self-same people feel just as "entitled" to their speedway fix, well there'll come a time when it''ll be one thing or another, they won't be able to have both.1 point

Personally I think it should be the same admission price for everybody, unless you have saved on a season ticket.1 point

I think Iversen will end up staying the full season & Kildemand replacing someone else. There's always rider's getting banged up at the start of the year. I have to say, Iversen's name on the teams sheet looks good, like a team that could seriously challenge that Sheffield team in 2022. Keep him fit, on form & he stays, title challenge IS ON1 point

So extrapolate this out to see why it makes sense. All Russian sports people are banned by international sports authorities. The Russian authorities than ban them all. So all Russian sports people are therefore now allowed to compete in international events. Representing some banner but in reality representing Russia. Massive boost for Putin. "I told you they wouldn't ban our sports people". It's like telling a fat bloke he's banned from eating pies and then giving him a pie as soon as he says he doesn't want one. As long as he pretends he's not a fat bloke, even though everyone knows he is.1 point

Could Jason Crump be persuaded to change his mind and swap the job at Oxford for one last tour? He didn't do himself justice last season after the pre-season injury and the prang at Monmore. All that's needed is someone who can get out of the gate and get some heat wins at home and occasional ones away. Plymouth were to a bit short-changed last season so it could be a chance to put that right and for Crumpie to have a better season as his riding farewell.1 point

And it's the dispicable 4-3-2-0 scoring to contrive a definite result. A draw is often a very good and fair result especially for an away side, achieved with a full 7 riders (hopefully). So now it's just down to which team has just the best top two only and the justice/joy of a hard fought draw is lost. Ridiculous to change it. Boils my p!ss.1 point
