He’s got a point. Someone on the internet once told me Klindt was a No 1 and I certainly don’t believe that17 points

If Laguta does end up at KL I’d definitely not be happy if I was a Panthers fan as they been told no one is available then Laguta ends up at the club owners other track - really doesn’t sit well if it was the other way round Lynn fans would be into meltdown.6 points

I think Brady has stumped up most of the money for Laguta maybe ? Or that whiskey sponsor, can’t see buster paying that6 points

The only thing you can really compare it to is that Keynan Rew who doesn't ride is the Ekstraliga and he was a 5.00, gotta be a 7.00 for me, will be sort of surprised if its a 5.00 its good for Pboro if it is anyway These things don't happen overnight so surely Peterborough knew something was happening, so makes it more bizarre that Tomalin and Johnson attacked fans online, should have said nothing, delivered their win from Monday, announced new riders by the end of the week4 points

It could actually be a blessing if Birmingham go with Sundays, I personally think the attendances would improve, as for Bank Holidays the BSPL going with fixed race days cream crackered a potential money spinner for some Championship Clubs, which is all the more annoying when Bank holidays come around and their are only 1 or 2 fixtures, Speedway simply needs to be more fan friendly, the local derby Cradley v Coventry on Bank holiday monday with the return on the same day that,s the type of planning needed.3 points

I wouldn't be in a rush to replace KK. I know he's been awful away, but at home he's got a 10+ average. Winning at home must be priority to keep the fans happy surely?3 points

Is Simon Lambert just jealous because he'll never be good enough to ride in Poland? What Drew is doing isn't baffling at all. There's more support, more opportunities to ride, more money, more training, more professional set ups... Riding in Poland is a no brainer if you're good enough. Rather than being sh!t on by the way the sport is run in this country, getting dropped from teams for being too good (too high average) for next to no money etc etc... I'm not a fan of Drew, but I know and respect what his decisions are, I think they're pretty sensible tbh...3 points

I would think Worrall's work is much different to yours. If he has got a bad wrist or whatever,a broken bone and he can't hold onto a bike do you think he should remain at home at all time or something? This is speedway, not a desk job.I have been to many speedway meetings for instance when i was on crutches and other reasons having sick notes to cover my absences.Just because i wasn't fit enough to do my job they didn't expect me to stay in all the time.I have too have been on holiday while off sick, recovering from some minor heart surgery.I couldn't physically do my job,but as my manager put it a good holiday will help in your recovery i'm sure.Even better when your on full pay and not using your holiday entitlement3 points
-
I wouldn't have a problem if i was a Peterborough fan as long as the injury is proven and carries a sick note. Why not go on holiday if you can't race, probably the most perfect time to go.3 points

You have Alex, who hasn't said a peep, and just goes about his job. And you have Big Spuds.. that rumours are he hasn't even paid his original sponsor money. Maybe a statement from him is needed I think finally the penny has dropped for most Panthers fans.. But what do i know About time, but better late than never3 points

Statement on the Lynn website KEITH Chapman has moved to clarify his position as owner of both King’s Lynn and Peterborough Speedway amidst rumours of rider movement at various Sports Insure Premiership clubs. Chapman retains his promoter’s licence at King’s Lynn but has confirmed the day-to-day running of the club, and financial affairs, are in the hands of others. He is also the owner of Peterborough where work continues to fill the position vacated by Nicki Pedersen who left the club after one meeting.Chapman said: “I’ve been reading plenty of comments over recent days and I think it’s important to lay out clearly what the situation is.“I no longer have any financial involvement in King’s Lynn Speedway, and whilst I still hold a promoter’s licence there, this will be my last season in that role and I’ve made that clear to everyone.“All of the financial and team matters at King’s Lynn are taken on by Alex Brady and Dale Allitt, although obviously I still have responsibility for the stadium.“I do still own the club, it hasn’t been sold yet, but the funding is not coming from me this year.“At Peterborough everyone knows the problems we have faced, and it was me who did the deal with Nicki Pedersen to race at No.1, which unfortunately went wrong after one race.“Since then we’ve been looking for a replacement, and trying to book the best guests we can under the circumstances.“It hasn’t always worked but we had Max Fricke lined up for a meeting that was rained off, and I paid for Dan Bewley to guest on Monday in a meeting against King’s Lynn, so there’s no question of me making decisions to favour one club over the other.“The team and financial decisions at King’s Lynn are completely separate from me now, and of course I still desperately want Peterborough to survive beyond this season.“I just want to make it totally clear that the two clubs are not being run by the same person with one being prioritised over the other.”3 points

And this is where us fans come in and force this down their throats. It's the only hope for Peterborough speedway and it's there in black and white and I'd hazard a guess is exactly what messrs Rathbone and Tomalin are waiting for3 points

I agree he is your best rider but by carefully gathering bonus points he gets paid the same, reduces his average and gets lots of guest bookings and earns even more money.3 points

I think it's pretty clear MT hasn't delivered. Not much doubt about that one. I know he might save you one day so you have to seen to support him2 points

I don't see that amending the planning consent to allow a Tuesday or a Friday race night, being a problem as long as the planning officer is made aware of the fact that the intention is not to stage more than one meeting per week. The change from Wednesday nights to Thursday nights (a change which only lasted for one season) wasn't difficult to obtain. There were a handful of objectors who all claimed that Birmingham wanted to run twice a week, but the Planning Officer in his report to committee, stressed that he was approving either Wednesday or Thursday as the permitted race night conditional on this not being on both nights of the same week. The approval to run on Good Friday and on Bank Holiday Sundays, which is still valid on the planning conditions, also stated that if a Bank Holiday Sunday meeting was rained off, then it could be re-staged on an alternative non-Bank Holiday Sunday providing that another meeting was not scheduled for the Wednesday or Thursday of the same week. Contrary to what people seem to think, Birmingham City Council have never placed any difficulties in the way of Birmingham Speedway.2 points

True, but at least it's out in the open and we have something to work with to make AEPG/PCC work for it. The immediate concern would be k. The facility is demonstrably no longer fit for purpose and the site is not viable to be redeveloped for a new community facility; Peterborough Speedway will be left in perfect working order after the last meeting of the 2023 season, as it is every year before it's readied in 6 months or so for the following season, so if anything happens to make it unfit for purpose then that would require some serious questions, unless the yet to be seen planning application is favourable to us.2 points

Bit harsh on Rowe not getting a permanent WC slot. 2nd reserve not bad but given no GB riders qualified thought as top GB scorer might squeeze in. Gone to chlupac, pollestad and grmek, 2 of whom he outscored2 points

I'd be careful though with who you sling mud at based on speculation on here..what if this guy turns out to be the saviour of the club?2 points
-
Spot on. Speedway riders are self employed, if they can't work due to injury then why not get away while you can. Common sense I'd have thought. If the insinuation is that he's not inured then that's a different matter entirely.2 points

Clubs don't normally have the backing of the Local Plan, and not one that is so specific. That's why the Club (or any prospective new promoter) needs to be working with the Council to ensure that the Local Plan is honoured. Given the scale of the prospective development the Developers will be well aware of the requirements of the Local Plan and will be able to well afford a replacement facility - in fact the Local Plan says that the Council should not grant planning approval without it2 points

The money from Nicki P hasn't gone anywhere, the money just has not come in MT thought he was running the show, Buster put him in his place over Holder-gate Buster dealt with Nicki P on the pre-season budget now that MT has withheld or not paid his latest instalment there is no Nicki P budget It really has turned sour, MT & Johnson hoping to pick the club up from the ashes at the end of the season, which may work out well especially if they can find some land or a stay of execution at the showground Buster wants out, happy just owning Kings Lynn as a stadium2 points

Difference between riders being available and riders being available who the club can afford.2 points

And rightly so imho. Buster has owned Lynn for 25+ years. Never won the top league. We had 1 win all season when P/Boro won the league under Buster.. It's well overdue for the Stars loyal fans to have a team to challenge for something, other than that spoon. I don't think it's as simple as stuff Boro, and spend the money on Lynn. Talk was that NP was on £3.5k a meeting. The Zagar deal was aparently verbally agreed, then for him to ask for more.. Buster asked a sponsor to help, but was turned down. Since then there is talk of MT only paying a fraction of the agreed sponsorship with Buster.. If true has Buster still got the NP money or was that figured in the TM money that maybe hasn't been paid? Who knows. Is Laguta, if he comes on more than NP was, so Buster can't afford him, same as Zager? Maybe a Lynn sponsor is putting up the money, and not Buster for a Stars signing. Something that's not happening at Peterborough . In fact it seems the opposite at Boro sadly. The sponsor money might be going the other way ? At the end of the day it looks like a Stars sponsor is willing to put his had in his pocket for the good of the Stars. If no one at Peterborough is willing to, you can't blame Buster for that. Edit... Looking at Tel's new post 2 down . The statement from Buster confirms he is not paying for any rider, including Laguta if he does come. So can't be blamed for being bias to Lynn , or the other way..2 points

The mooted team will be much better at home with those two rather than hit and miss guests and Hans. Probably not away but winning at home has to be the first priority.2 points

No way Tarasenko will come in on a 5.00 average as an Ekstraliga rider with a current CMA of 6.50 for 2023, surely means he will come in on a 7.00 But I remember, this is British Speedway that put crump on a high average although he last rode in 19282 points

Agree Buster has strict budgets, but riders always got paid on time. Some other clubs were paying some of their riders willy nilly, sometimes not at all.So obviously some are prepared to take a lower rate knowing they will get paid. Was prepared to pay Pedersen 3.5K a meeting.2 points

Not knocking a well built side but home victories on a track nobody else has visited (plus expect the majority of teams to be decent at home this year) and an away victory at a track the team all knows well. Once Worky have gone to Belle Vue or Oxford then it will show if they are a serious contender or better of the also rans.2 points

Thought Rob Godfrey's comments tonight were quite interesting. Saying he begged Drew Kemp to come to Scunny and also that Poole tried to sign Kemp when Jack Thomas got injured and he said no to that too. Also sounded like if Rowe wasn't at Poole they would have tried to sign him and also mentioned 'other pieces of a jigsaw'. So am assuming more changes after 28 days are up? Said Tom Brennan wouldn't return his calls about guesting tonight. Well if we get an 8 point win after everyone riding just okay, then not too worrying imo.1 point

I can assure you the site search by Cradley has stretched far more than Dudley MBC, try Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, Staffordshire, Wyre Forest, South Staffs and even Solihull, let me give you an example of what Cradley are up against, approx 2 years ago a site came on the market and it was sold for £800k recently the same site was offered for £6 million, other land owners prefer to just let the sites lie idle or continue to use as pasture land rather than take a reasonable rent from Speedway, another example from an old farmer that has 150+ acres says why should i rent out some land and get the hassle that goes with it, That my friend is just some of the obstacles of what we are up against.1 point

Imo as i said a few weeks back that Buster has been taking a seat further towards the back. This has been showing for a while. It also enhances my opinion that he wanted the deal with Tomalin done at the start of the season, but Tomalin did indeed fall short by about 90% of what he said he was prepared.1 point

Trigger a lot cheaper too, whereas Sam Hagon would cost a bit in travel expenses. Also if SH isn't the answer all you're doing is training a rider for someone else.1 point

Congratulations to the Brummies on the launch of their new TikTok channel. At long last, something to appeal to the youth, whose support they really need. Good luck with that. How it all contrasts to a few years ago when social media was controlled with an iron fist from BSPZzz headquarters, with legal threats and withdrawal demands on dubious copyright grounds. Speedway teams were banned from having Social Media channels back then, either in the form of Facebook, Twitter, Flickr let alone TicTok (had it existed at the time) and fans ran the risk of getting into trouble if they took their own photos and videos and posted them online. Thank goodness those days are over. I just hope that the ground that speedway has lost to other sports and attractions over the years can be caught up again before it's too late.1 point

Quite enjoyed the meeting but the camera angles were poor, don't recall it being that bad when watching meetings from Beaumont Park on TV previously. Strange decision to put Fricke on the inside gate 2 for heat 15, he'd been flying around the outside of everyone on turns 1 & 2 all night.1 point

Well what can I say about my 1st & certainly won't be my last visit to the Northside Arena for meeting against Berwick yesterday... Absolutely brilliant views of all the track & cracking racing... Well worth the £13.00 entry fee & also got a suntan happy days... But TBH the whole set up is very very good & it'll only improve which will be even better so WORKY good luck in the future1 point
