  1. Great to see so many people turn out for Puk on a chilly afternoon. Plenty of rusty men and machines on display as is the norm for early season meetings but the three GP lads were head and shoulders above the rest and no surprise heat 16 was probably the race of the day. A shame that the drizzle spoilt the top scorers race. Hope the youth riders who flipped at the startline are all ok. And awesome to see @Trees back at the Adrian Flux Arena.

  2. Let’s get one thing straight. The FIM supply the officials and make the rules. WBD are the right’s holders- in other words it is their gig. They then sell the individual GP’s to the tracks or Federation as is the case of the PZM and the Warsaw GP. Those tracks then sell the tickets at a price they set- and hope to make a profit doing so. Anything you say different to the above is just plain cr@p !!

  4. Good weather, Really good gate, queues all the way out of the stadium when we arrived and we had to park in the overflow car park (a field). Getting in was ok and we arrived in the stadium with about 30 mins to go, just in time to get one of the last programmes (800) we were told. 30 min delay to enable the crowd outside to get in, first 4 races, then 10-15 min track grade Next 4 races, then 10-15 min track grade and then junior races heat 9 then 10 min break for track watering heat 10 during which all the riders couldn’t race because the track had been over watered then 10 min track grade to repair track because the watering had left it in a very poor condition heats 11 & 12 then a short track grade Next 4 races, heat 16 was notable as with Lambert, Doyle and Lindgren all unbeaten this was the first real race of the night with numerous passing by all 3, Klindt was well off the pace Dreadful meeting with the large crowd amusing themselves with much food and drinks, I can offer no reason for the many many breaks or track grades other than it allowed the very large crowd to spend more money on food and more drinks, luckily the stadium didn’t appear to run short of everything. Unfortunately we didn’t stay for the top scorers race as we were nearly falling asleep for the tedious processional follow the leader racing (other than heat 16) Good luck to Niels, well deserved Good luck to everyone who stayed to the end, they deserve a medal, I seriously doubt Buster will get a bigger crowd again this season,

  5. Guess that puts to bed any concerns that he wouldn’t return the same rider, or at least would take him a while to get going 😁 Shouldn’t have doubted him really, he’s just ridiculously good and a class act. Iron man!

  7. I think I found it on the BT web site Bruno? It was listed under "special offers for BT customers". I read all the small print and it clearly said it was a 1 month rolling contract, so I plan to cancel it once the Speedway season is over. I have a Samsung smart TV with has Discovery+ under the apps section. If I scroll to that app and select sports, I can now access all the 4 TNT sports channels via that route. Seems to work fine.

  9. once the racing began the 21 heats were completed in a touch over two hours which i think is about right personally i use the breaks between races to socialise with people i havent seen all winter rather than worry about what tractors are or arent doing but each to their own

  12. Yes, with a rather insensitive message... "we're doing some work on the site"! Yes! You're knocking a perfectly good stadium down!

  13. Speaking for self, I much prefer physical copies of magazines as I spend most of my working day staring into monitors, online stuff is great when it works. When it works. The Star is a great, tho not perfect magazine, there is more foreign news by necessity as with quite a few clubs sadly closed in the UK it follows there is less UK news to report. The biggest problem area with Speedway Star is the distribution which can be pretty random, after weeks of being on time so far in 2025 my copy has been late the last 3 weeks, regular post arrived, still not received this week's 13 March issue, tho was on sale in Asda....

  14. It was Rugby Council who opposed the planning application, and the appeal against the decision was refused by the Government Planning Officer.

  15. I would put that with, the cheques in the post, we stand with WASPI women, etc etc, all of the hollow promises which help another agenda, personally I would love it to happen and if above NDL level would make effort to attend frequently, but the cynical side of me thinks "it ain't going to happen" and Abbey stadium will get built on before a single league meeting takes place at the new venue ?

  16. The Hancocks were offered a few million for the land were they not? And took it, hence the closure of the speedway. thats what the story was at the time anyway.
