  1. Ive never doubted that about you Gordon but there are others not so well versed in when they should keep their gob shut sadly. My PM gets filled up on here with rubbish so unless you get me at just the right time you will struggle. My email address is still the same as its always been but to be honest its probably better that you posted on here anyhow for all to see
  2. and just to highlight the point I have had fans of three other clubs tell me today, independently, whats happening at Glasgow next season plus another hint that something big is coming up (in fairness to the one who made a hint they didnt give any other details). The three independent comments contain the same information......
  3. And you would justify this how? Especially as we the fans dont even know what season tickets are being set at or what the terms are yet....... The reason to change start time was not to do with the good of the club or for a reason on a couple of occassions but the whim of people involved who didnt give a damn about the fans and you know it. To try and claim that hoping people will have forgotten is frankly insulting but as I said already it was only one of many things that have turned people off the speedway. It certainly did a good job of peeing off even more fans, something that seems to have been a constant over the last couple of years. A good reason? Yeah the fans were just told and that was it for some. The joke attempt to get the fans to 'cheer' for a 5pm start from the centre green one week not only failed miserably but made the club look a joke. The constant telling other clubs fans what were going on and not us - we had to find out from Newcastle/Edinburgh/Berwick/Workington and I think also Rye House fans what was happening in our club - thats how much consideration we were shown. Oh and not to forget your beloved ice hockey and the 'well the ice hockey had players out and didnt tell the fans and they didnt moan so neither should you' when fans felt annoyed at finding out from other sources that there were going to be 3 NL riders in a line up and Glasgow were trying to keep it from the fans then blocking people who dared to disagree even civilly. Crazy thing is, had they been open the majority would have felt sympathy with the clubs predicament but still gone to cheer on their team. Instead you had people saying they wouldnt be going because they were being treated like mushrooms. Lets face it the club has been run like a joke and the start times was just one of many things. Why the hell would I or anyone trust what is said about season tickets at the start of the year after the way we were taken for mugs this year? There were good people there with hearts in the right place but no real idea of how to deal with people or run a business, plus idiots. Unfortunately the damage done by the minority will take a lot more than 2 years to repair imo
  4. If you read my post properly I said I accepted the risk of meetings being moved for genuine reasons. What I don't accept was the gratuitous way things were changed for no good reason after tickets were sold on the 'meetings will run at 3pm'premise announced at the end of last year. That was treating fans with disdain no matter how much you want to try and dress it up something that seems to have been all too common in recent times. Why on earth would I want to consider buying a season ticket next season after you have just implied that start times will be moved willy nilly and you have just suggested I was 'stupid' to take the risk when I expected them to plat fair last season and my trust was repaid by being shafted? Now THAT would be stupid would it not?
  5. I guess Im one of the ones you are having a go at with the 5pm thing. So lets put the facts down for me. Up to others if they want to speak up for themselves I bought a season ticket with Glasgow stating they had a start time of 3pm. As I said at the time, I accept you get the occassional happening eg double headers when start times have to change but when they then started to change the start time gratuitously to 5pm at a whim and, like some others, I have other commitments and cant do 5pm starts. Had they indicated when selling season tickets that they were contemplating this there are two of us here who certainly would not have bought them but gone on a pay as you go basis. I therefore felt - and still do feel - cheated that they deliberately changed their part of the deal when I bought the season ticket making it a bigger waste of money for me. If you think thats an unjust 'moan and groan' then you must be one hell of a laid back person who is quite happy to be taken for a ride or one of those who made the decision. I'm not. Im the mug who forked out for something that was not what it was sold as because the goalposts were moved for no good reason. Speedway is dying - plenty reasons why and treating paying customers badly is just one of many.
  6. we've been saying that most weeks since May, even when its not rained off
  7. usual poor attempt to stir there Blobby. anyone in the central belt and west of scotland can tell you its been canoes we need today not bikes. I could take a pic out my window just now showing a bit blue sky then point the camera at the ground to show flooding.
  8. Gaz, I would have thought you would have gone for Travis Why Does It Always Rain on Me
  9. it just goes to prove where the comment lies damn lies and stats comes from! Stats are fascinating and often reveal things you dont realise but sport and entertainment are subjective. For speedway, your opinion (and that of any fan) is more important than stats as that is what gets you back through the gate
  10. similar to Armadale? In that its got a centre green, shale and pits perhaps. as to not requiring much skill to ride it, that has to be one of the most bizarre comments I have read on here. There is no repetititive passing in one place, passing happens all over the track - a quick look at match reports or televised meetings suggests that. There are constant references to cat and mouse battles with riders having to be clever to hold off challenges or find a way through and yet you dont think it requires skill? I'd say a track that appears to require you to ride both defensively to hold position and/or cleverly to thwart your opponents thinking to pass requires more skill than most
  11. any time I have been the racing has been cracking. perhaps I've just been lucky or perhaps you need racers on both teams willing to take it on and race. There have always been plenty of lines as well when I've been
  12. I was more worried at the 'bikes over wall' bit - thats twice he's tried that with me, I could take the huff! I would love Fisher on my team. he is entertaining and exciting. Yes he occassionally oversteps the line and the wee brain cell goes missing but I like to believe its cos he is an out and out entertainer. Mind you, I like watching Ben Barker too so maybe its just me. I'd have Ryan Fisher over some of these soporiphic money grabbing no 1's that have been in evidence in the PL in recent years any day of the week
  13. What? A good job you arent GazC? Yeah one of them is more than enough Looks like you are coasting it
  14. Now that confused me! I thought you were Gazc there lol. Something tells me it isnt going to do you any harm having Fox not scoring - I dont think our makeshift team will trouble your remaining 6
  15. from what I have heard from someone at the track Gaz there are many many others have not bothered today either.... ;( when will they learn? Hopefully not before its too late but.....
  16. still working on rumours but I think its Danny Phillips in for Palovaara according to a mate at the track. Mason Campton is in too but not sure at this stage who for this might join the last post - Wolbert is missing so its r/r for Wolbert, Wethers for Harrison and Campton in at no 2
  17. He is guesting for Rusty Harrison Steve - thanks though Again I stress this next bit is rumour only - I've not seen any official comment anywhere - apparently Viktor crashed on Friday and suffered concussion so is not fit to ride today. If thats true get well soon Viktor. If its not I am sure someone will put me right
  18. Rumour (thats all it is for now as nothing official anywhere that I can see) has it that Viktor Palovaara will also be missing for the Tigers this afternoon. Can any of our Newcastle friends confirm?
  19. Hardly surprising with the mucking about of start time. Speedway and Glasgow speedway need the decent travelling support Newcastle usually bring to boost numbers but they dont seem to realise it
  20. I think Steve that is one of the major problems and it has been happening all year. We are treated like mushrooms. We are only the paying public but the amount of times we find out things like that from other clubs before our own has the decency to let their own support know is disgraceful. And for teh official site still to be stating one thing when its told another clubs fans another is, quite frankly, insulting (no disrespect to you guys obviously)
  21. typical of Glasgow, how to p!ss people off in any way they can. why listen to or tell the fans eh? I really fear for the clubs future when they seem to be completely adverse to showing the paying customers any respect at all. Complete and utter joke
  22. typical Glasgow these days, cant even keep the start time steady. Thats really going to help any Newcastle fans who were thinking on travelling. high time they accepted people dont want the 5pm start and want the regular 3pm rather than 'guess the start time'
  23. Im afraid just because an individual thinks a thread is worthless is not justification for it to get 'locked down' or moderated (probably just as well lol). BSF is not nor hopefully will it ever be a police state but a forum inhabited by people who should be adults so we try not to take anything off unless it is illegal or blatently against forum rules. If people feel something should be removed rather than just have a dig and slag mods off, why not hit the 'report' button and someone will look at it. its much better for the soul than the sarky remarks If people feel a topic worthless it will soon die a natural death and drop off the page, sometimes its best just to ignore topics you feel worthless when others, by virtue of posting, obviously dont
