Lioness replied to fatface's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I'm in two minds over it Falcace.....I can almost see the runners up spot for him again next year with TR getting that ellusive crown. Who knows though with any luck we will both be wrong and Scott Nicholls will win it! -

In fairness Keith as a newbie you perhaps dont realise but I'm sure Shazzy was not intending to be sarcastic, merely helpful to you and Phil at the same time. Phil has always paid the majority of costs for the forum-something all of is are guilty of forgetting at times. It only really came to a head recently hence the 'donation' link. He does not want to exclude anyone however so rather than alienate particularly the younger ones he prefers to do it on a voluntary donation basis. Hope that helps -
Thanks ajh, great report! It must have been even more of an anti climax in the stadium when Crump was excluded but imo there is a lot in what you say about Nicki being better prepared-or perhaps just better equipped to deal with the pressure on the night. I've said it before elsewhere but I'll say it again (Hey if TTF can repeat verbatim so can I-j/k!). I feel sorry for Greg Hancock not getting the attention he deserved for winning the final GP round. It doesn't surprise me that he made BSI wait till he acknowleged his fans-good on him!

Good point Gredon-I'd forgotten that!

I was going to post to agree but then I looked and saw it was you Steve and realised I'm not allowed to! I thought the meeting was a bit flat and on the whole not very exciting which was strange given what was at stake. I did wonder just how much different I would have felt about it if, as I had hoped, it had gone to the final with Crump and Pedersen going head to head. I'd rather see the last GP at someplace like Big Josh (copyright Star Lady because I cant spell the name I mean!). i think it would have been more fitting

OMG I'm agreeing with Steve Hone AGAIN! twice in one night Steve-people will start to talk. theres nought in it Shazzy honest! Well done to Greg a very worthy winner on the night -
I have to say I agree with Steve Hone! Am I allowed to do that? Can I get tablets for it? ;-) I felt sorry for two people at the GP last night. Firstly I felt that Andreas was the innocent party of a refereeing mistake. I'm not going to slate the referee for it, he had a pretty decent meeting all in but he definately called that one wrong. Pedersen should have been excluded and Johnsson would have one of those illusive podium places. As Jo says, the boost he would ahve got from it would have done him the world of good Secondly I feel sorry for Greg Hancock. Its always going to be the case that the winner of the GP that decides the destination of the World Championship isn't going to get the same pomp and circumstance as all the other GP winners so its just one of those things. However Greg rode intelligently last night and it was nice to see him win. So well done Nicki and well done Greg!

Anyone ever thought.............
Lioness replied to shazzybird's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I took it that Shazzy was meaning we should bear that in mind when being nasty about them as they are human too sort of thing and could be reading Dekk -
That must be taking you ages! Looking good though.....had a wee rake round while I was in and discovered a few things I didn't realise!

Am I the only one who had visions of sultry speedway riders, kit half on half off, posing beside bikes and competing for the title of Miss err Mr January? I am? Ooops Its an idea though.... -
Anyone ever thought.............
Lioness replied to shazzybird's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think I'd die of embarrasment if I found out Walshy read the forum lol.(but if you do my phone no is .....ooops shut up k! :clown ) I know of a handful of PL riders who do also read the forum though and of a couple who post under aliases(which I fully understand-would you put yourself in the firing line?). You are right though Shazzy, it is well worth remembering when posting And that from someone else who uses an alias...... :clown -
I take it this is with a view to the Hull promotion maybe signing him Johnson?

Jason or Nicki?
Lioness replied to London Witch's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yeah i guess it is! No 1 at work likes speedway so they don't have a clue about Jason, but know about Nicki, so if i get them to all register and vote for Nicki then he stands a better chance Off now to block ALL new users from voting in the poll..... ;-) -
I just worry that such a break away league would do what it looked (wrongly I accept-sorry!) to me that you were doing in your post-forget about the 'northern' clubs. I'm not in favour of regionalisation for leagues either as I feel it would have the same effect....within 10 years it would be 'regionalised' in the south and speedway would be even more of a minority sport. I DO agree with regionalised cup ties in the early rounds/initial round but I could not see it working in a league format
