Barter with the taxi driver before hand discoll and agree a price. Prague airport is quite some way outside Prague and the guys who were over with us not on the official tour found they were better to barter with the local taxis rather than try and figure out the buses! Oh and a word of warning......if a flight from Tel Aviv lands immediately before yours go for a coffee/beer etc before trying to get through passport control! The Czechs are VERY strict on non European/Russian passport clearance as we found out!

Oops! missed this! In Prague itself, in the likes of Wenceslas Square, some of the rip off tourist joints err I mean elite bars will charge you as much as 55p! Shocking! Most of the time in Prague itself the average is 30-35p, in the outlying areas its 25p Now what makes you think I'm an expert in Budvar drinking? lol. Steve I've made a major boo boo I tried to split the thread about the meetings on the 17th and 24th August into two threads by using a shadow topic and I mucked it up and can't get them back. I had thought it might have been a good idea-you know what thought did :-( So sorry to Steve, JY and Sue who from memory were the three who had posted on the thread. Also Steve is there any chance you can confirm the meetings that are on the 17th and 24th? The names I thought I remembered I can't see on your fixtures list and I dont want to cause any more confusion by remembering wrong! Apologies again folks

Mylor, I am only a couple of weeks back from Czech Republic and a few of our party booked last minute to stay in hotels in Prague for a couple of nights. I'll find out the names for you but two of the guys were told they could only get a top of the range suite-it cost them £35 per night with free drink between 6-10! Everyone who booked late though was more than happy with the accomodation. One thing though-don't rely on the star system for hotels, on the whole there is very little difference! Re the beer if you are getting charged 60p/pint move bars! In Ceske Budejovice it was 25p/pint but when we went into Prague itself it tended to be around 40p. Watch out for some of the bars which charge 'tourist' rates! Remember and try Budvar-the original bud brewed in Ceske If I could afford to go back so soon I'd be there like a shot-Prague is a great place. With speedway-wow! Have a great time folks.
