  1. Could you explain that one, thought the supporters paid admission. They say that crowds were OK last season and the club is in great shape for potential investors.
  2. In the early 60's when George was becoming the star at Meadowbank he drove a Cattle Lorry for his uncle most of the days he wasn't riding, as a lad used to wait for him stopping at the Chippy most nights ,great guy always had a chat.Times have changed ,if you have a bike you think you are a superstar nowadays.
  3. The sport doesn't own these riders a living ,it's a sport if the riders are not making enough money at it they need to do something else to top up their earnings,it's pretty obvious the sport is in trouble by paying more than they can afford.Realism needs to kick in.
  4. Trouble is even your Promotion can't get enough fans through the gate to make it pay for itself ,a higher standard probably means big wage bills which is going to close you down if you believe what they are saying.Promotions have to get together regarding wage cap ,if the sport is going to revive its self.Need to go back and build again IMO .
  5. As long as the Promoters have agreed not to pay silly money for these sought after riders with "attractive" averages or we will be back in the same boat as before.( wouldn't put money on that happening though).
  6. Do what's right fo GB speedway, fans want to see their riders every week, that is a major gripe among a lot of fans.
  7. Its time to tell these 2nd raters where to go,if they are going to miss UK fixtures for the odd meeting Poland let them sit in the house waiting for the Polish telephone call.
  8. Personaly I don't see any encouraging signs after the outcome of the AGM,looks like another sticking plaster job to me.Disapointing IMO .
  9. Who is going to bail out the Bandits to run next season.
  10. Think it best if “the Buster Chapman Show is left to run his circus”.The Championship looks a bit more creditable although points limit is a bit mean. Its just a joke sport .
  11. Better than going bankrupt and closing down though IMO.The sport is a joke .
  12. When do Teams that are up for sale have to decide whether they will run or not.?
  13. Interesting that the 2 newest clubs to Premiership in recent years can see the light ,and are out before going bankrupt .
  14. agree, addressing tracks and Machinery would be a good start.
  15. Said it for the last few years riders are pricing themselves out of work, they will be looking for 9-5 jobs that some maintain because they can't make it pay.The chickens are coming home IMO .
  16. Maybe so on the Speedway front, but the land they have bought in both Stadium and surrounding area will see them Ok in the future if they bail out of the sport.
  17. Most clubs daily and race night activities are run by volunteers .
  18. Some are no worse than what they are trying now.
  19. The BSPA/SCB would not listen to such solutions.IMO.
  20. They don't have to be down this year ,the levels over the last 5-10 years have not been enough to sustain the sports rising costs.Like I have stated before its Sponsers ,Supporters Clubs and Fans Trusts that are preventing ever bigger losses.
  21. If David Howe was on £60pp their must a good number of riders near that figure IMO.I fact I think the majority will be more that David,so with the attendances I have seen in the last few seasons at most tracks you can see where the problems lie.The riders need a reality check IMO .Sponsers and fans trusts are all that's keeping the sport going .
