Somerset Rebels Vs Berwick 05/09
Fromafar replied to drew2's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Personaly I think if Matty is coming back on Sat he would be as well trying on Fri just to see how he feels and gets a spin under his belt , it's a nothing match anyway and he has to be on the ball in the play offs if we want any advantage of hin at reserve. -
Might sound daft but perhaps the bottom 4 in any GP should miss the next round and 4new riders from order in GP challenge get in if they stay out the bottom 4 they stay in and same again happens.that way you might get more consistent riders in the bottom end of the GP and a fight to stay in the competition. The 4 that drop out should always be the ones back in the next GP .Lets face if your in the bottom 4 more than once your not likely to effect your chances of being the Champ.(just a suggestion to freshen the gps up)It gives an outsider the chance to prove he is good enough to stay in if he gets the chance.

Thanks

Are there many riders with these engines, are they modified by the tuners or can you buy one of the shelf?
-
Thanks ,what is the advantage of this.

I am quite interested in the offset engine bit,is that to do with the frame design or the engine plates.

Somerset Rebels V Peterbourgh Panthers 29/ 8/ 14

Do points for /against not count in the event of all the teams finishing on equal points in the group.Surely can't have replay of groups. -
Sept 14th mentioned somewhere for re arranged fixture

Just shows what these engine tuners can do if you pay the cash, makes you wonder what "tricks" they use,to get them working so well. You need to have a lot of faith in them especially if there doing rivals engines too.

Glasgow V Rye House Sunday 31st August Pl
Fromafar replied to Catch Me If You Can's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
We can't have it both ways, but we can watch the same 7 riders each in our "own" Team would be a good starting point IMO .When the Second Division in 1968 there were very few established riders but the racing product was ok. -

left out the League cup as it a waste of time if a couple of matches get rained off. Berwick still have to go to Glasgow for a fixture which means nothing. IMO the PL promoters have to get together and sort out Foreign rider situation regarding missing fixtures even if in means employing young Brits in their Teams in would maybe weaken the product on offer to start with but I'm sure you would still get competitive Teams 1-7 and the chances are it would bring through some Young Talent and raise the Standard again in a few years.2nd rate Foreigners missing meetings are killing the PL.(injuries excluded). -

Would agree with starting with league fixtures but we seem to run in fixture congestion every year with this league cup if we have any rain-offs,missing riders scenario. -
He just can't seem to adapt to set ups he just looks slow,he certainly does not lack bottle when in the mix.

It's European u21 that's why it is not recognised. I think what these missing riders scenario proves that we need a slightly shortened season with the odd blank race day to cope.Perhaps just League,KO Cup and maybe 4's qualifiers is the way to go. -
Have to agree,he is not the first rider to self destruct.

That is a valid point, you never know if you are going to see good racing or not,but the main point is this is meant to be a Premier League meeting with 14 PL riders ,not 5 guests 2r/r. -

At £16 admission which is too much to watch PL speedway don't think it will persuade many.Should they not just reduce admission for this fixture. -

Double up riders seem to be able to pick and choose if they want to ride or not,a7day rest for injuries or missing meetings because of injury needs to be applied.IMO -

Judging by the TV replays he is very lucky it looked really nasty.Think Iversen going over the handlebars pulled his cut out out sharpish because his back wheel stopped quickly when it sucked in Gregs arm.Speedy recovery to both of them. -
