  1. Thats the way it goes if you have had a poor season. He is quite right regarding challenges why should he lose money paying riders who have not produce the goods during the season.
  2. Trouble is everybody has "fast" bikes, its the rider on board that really matters.Lets face it Middlo Team management leaves a lot to be desired but the end result will be the same .Injuries and politics have ruined other Teams chances but GB does not have the riders to be genuine contenders .
  3. Unfortunately due to the the duration of the races there is not enough time for him to generate that speed you talk about.
  4. Thats the reason he will struggle to get to the Top.Good riders are very consistent at starting and there is nothing in front slowing them down.
  5. We have a 7 man Team unfortunately not 1 of them is doing anything special. Inconsistent is the word but at the end of the day were just not good enough , no excuses really.Redcar are a decent team even when they have couple of riders having a poor night they still manage to pull of a win.Armadale was also a fine example.
  6. Surely GB would have a good chance on Thursday ,Aussies are not that strong.Cook is nowhere near Good enough, blaming track and wrong set-up for being poor the whole meeting is a poor excuse.GB is not going to improve in a year with the riders in the system at the moment.where is the YOUNG talent.look at the Poles and Danes they have an abundant of young riders. British Speedway is a shambles and has been for a while. Auty,Cook,Barker,Bridger have been around for a while now irrespective of how old or young they are I cannot see any of them being aGP rider in the future.Ellis and Lambert are the best bet given the right support IMO.
  7. Top of the Premier League is not the TOP in Speedway, someone should remind him.Still lets see how far he goes in the sport with that attitude. He wasn't an automatic choice IMO .Best of a mediocre bunch was nearer the mark.Cook,Barker and Bridger the best you could expect was a good night out on the P#ss. After all its only a National newspaper !!!!!!
  8. One addition should be get Sophie back on board it's cringing stuff watching Charlie trying to interview the riders.Sophie was excellent as usual last night on the 'other" channel.
  9. How about some scores from the the Danes at Poole, then of you go and do your paper round.
  10. while I agree with most that Eddie should not have been selected given his current form it was pretty poor to drop him after 1 ride then take him out again later in the meeting Cook was no better.Gb were never going to win the meeting but were never going to not qualify so Eddie should have been given opportunity to at least take his rides.Poor management skills all round.Dont think there was much wrong with the track just a poor quality of riders (apart from the Danes and Tai)made it a poor meeting. Harris always seem to be happy with his performances these days !!!!!!
  11. This could be the best meeting in the SWC hard to predict the outcome.
  12. I Personaly don't know what help they will get but if the comments of Harris, Nichols and they late Lee Richardson were anything to go by it costs you money to represent your Country which is not a good omen.
  13. The way I look at is you don't need to learn on all these different tracks (shapes and sizes) in Britain nowadays because the sport has moved away from Britain in the last 30 years most of the tracks on the Continent are fairly big and wide .you obviously need talent bit you certainly don't have to ride in UK if you want to be World Champ. One bad meeting in Cardiff will not make A big difference IMO.
  14. When you see these young guys on the Continent you have to think British Speedway is in dire straits .guys like Ellis's and Lambert have to give GB speedway a miss if they want to progress IMO.
  15. I would agree to stick with Craig if GB did not have a chance of winning on Thurs, but lets face it Aussies are in the Sam e boat as GB 2 decent riders and Latvia could be anything.Barker and King might do a job so you have to give them a chance IMO.I have never though that Craig has classic style but can be fast I think the dirt caught him out IMO.
  16. Agree,Barker and King have to get a chance or we will never know.GB were never going to qualify from tonight.Cook exposed he is a class PL rider and OK in British elite league which is a poor standard, don't think he would do anything on the Continent. At 27 it is hard to say if he will improve much more.I don't think he will ever be aGP rider but would be happy to be proved long,he is dedicated now.
  17. Agree the track was good on Sat it slickens off towards the end ,but at least the riders can give it a go when prepared this way .A lot of decent entertainment with the nail biting finish and none of these exciting re-runs which some fans like!! Beaten by the better team on the night.Spoke to one of the Redcar riders who though it could have done with more water on it before meeting but appreciated the the football had been on and the track was drying quickly.
  18. Must congratulate Paul on a fine nights riding against a strong team.
  19. Funnily enough Les always springs to mind for me also.Perhaps senior riders should make these decisions at the end of a season as it always leaves them open to a little criticism ,especially when in Glasgows case the team has been built round them.
  20. I will stick by my quote from earlier in the season some senior riders are just going through the motions.I think when riders announce they are going to retire at the end of a season their mindset changes even though they think they are still fully committed .Its just one of these things IMO.
