  1. thanks for that.... and by the way, don't let Tabby3 see you have an Australian avatar and said about 'us' needing a scapegoat... Tabby3 seems to expect every UK resident to support Team GB and therefore have a GB avatar I fly my avatar for Sully. I'm a Brit and was proud of the team last night, they certainly did better than I thought they would and I'm very pleased to eat lashings of humble pie. I don't like to see any rider persecuted by so called Speedway fans as happens far to often on this forum. Some of the comments on this forum towards Hans Andersen since last night have frankly been disgusting and have crossed over the boundary. One particular post was the one asking someone to throw a breeze block at him on the back straight tomorrow night - I am surprised that the moderators have allowed that to stay, but perhaps by not, they are endorsing these kind of actions? Oh and Ipswich fans if you don't want Hans please send him back to Alwalton where his talent will be appreciated.
  2. Middlo has done a brilliant job with little or no financial resources and a lack of world class talent coming through. Personally If I were in his position I would tell SGB that unless they put the right funding in place and recognise the need to develop the sport at the grass roots level then I'm packing up. He could leave (if he wanted to) with head held mightily high.
  3. no i don't think Hans is innocent...i watched the meeting too, but then do you also think Nicholls should have been excluded earlier in the meeting, or do you think Nicholls made a mistake with the 'red lights' or do you even think the race should have been stopped when Richardson was 3rd in a race and someone in front went out of shape causing his chain to come off... how often do you see that in a league match and at the fans just look at it as an unfortunate incident, after all, no-one came off. basically what i'm saying is that these things balance themselves out... and Sweden won. Spot on Steve. I hate it that we always have to have a scapegoat when we fail.
  4. I think Gollob and Andersen were on a hiding to nothing in Heat 25. GB lost the meeting earlier and would not have even been in the position they were but for some very dubious refereeing decisions. The Silver medal is a tremendous achievement and I'm sorry, the best team won.
  5. Just about to throw out a pile of old Speedway Stars came across Middlo's scathing comments about Andersen following the recent test match, that I believe did make it into the Sun as well. I wonder if Middlo regrets saying them this morning?
  6. What absolute and total rubbish. I have never ever known a race to be stopped because someone loses a chain or because the ref thinks there might be an accident. What do you want next, indicators on bikes. Get real.
  7. Most Panthers fans will not be surprised by the form Havvy showed tonight, he was excellent. There certainly is life left in the old dog yet.
  8. yeah and perhaps we need someone to oversee him too! Too right. I was told by someone involved in the organisation of the sport that OO can pull strokes when he wants to and I can now see what he meant. OO certainly doesn't seem to distance himself from attracting these sort of comments does he. The ref had a mare tonight, an absolute mare.
  9. It's not clear imo. You are led to believe this because Tatum says it is happening.
  10. Go on then, prove it. Doh..typical.. Didnt you watch Sky then?.. If you did you will have seen the incident quite clearly.. If you didnt. Why are you butting on here? The proof was there in front of your eyes.. in fact in front of millions of pairs of eyes and you come on here and say..go on then.. just about sums you up. I think you will find Sir Kelvin says he is easing off, but there is no way you can categroically say that you can see him doing it, he goes from first to last. PK is on the outside and has all the drive. One thing you can say though, is that Scott missed the gate and should have wrapped it up off the inside. Only one person knows if he eased off and that is Andersen. Get a grip and take defeat graciously. Well done GB a great effort, and well done Sweden, the best team won.
  11. Just spent the last hour reading this thread, phew! I think some people are going well OTT here, GB never lost the meeting in heat 25, they lost it over 25 heats and did exceptionally well to finish where they did. As for heat 25, can you say categorically that Andersen eased off? Only one person knows, I'm afraid and talk of bribes is outrageous and people are only saying it because of Scotty's comments when interviewed. IMO Scott would not have got anywhere near PK anyway. Andersen went from first to last, he could have had bike problems, didn't Gollob go from first to last tonight and I know Boycie did the other night, were they 'cheating' as well. Lets take defeat graciously for a change and not turn into football supporters. The ref did us so many favours tonight, it was almost bloody embarrassing. Sweden were very worthy winners and no one can deny that.
  12. Get a grip, get a life and take defeat graciously. We lost this meeting before Heat 25 and if you think for one minute Scotty would have beaten PK you must come from planet zob. GB far exceeded anyones expectations including admittedly mine, but Sweden were the best team on the night. The Poles and the Danes were very disappointing, the ref had an absolute mare.
  13. I doubt it, we haven't got any chance of winning whatsoever, despite the Middlo spin, we will be extremely fortunate to make the final. Just thought i would point this comment out!! role on saturday good luck boys! Oh for goodness sake. Ok we made it to the final, but I'm certainly not being swept along with the tide of emotion that has crept into this forum. Some people on here actually believe TeamGB can win the World Cup. Wake up and smell the coffee! If we get on the podium it will be a tremendous effort. Win it, no chance.
  14. He's bloody dirty, that 2 rides now where he has wiped out riders. 3 if you count the Adams incident but tht was just him being out of control. I don't think he's dirty, I have always thought that he never looks in total control of his machine, he bucks, rears and wobbles all over the place. He's dangerous, not dirty and very over-rated. Yes sure and you would never want him to ride for your team! Lindback is a very young but sensational rider who has the world at his feet and in the next two years will be challenging for the world title. Over rated? Never. If I had the choice between Bjerre and Lindback (both the same age) I would choose Bjerre everytime. Now that boy has got class.
  15. That's really funny, within seconds of him coming on screen my wife and I both thought he had been on the sauce.

  17. For sure this was the best meeting I have ever seen on Sky, sheer determination from all the riders on show, I think you would have had the same on any track in the country though. How I wish Gollob was racing back in the EL, he alone would add hundreds on to every attendance, the guy is amazing.
  18. Could someone fetch Steve a box of tissues please.
  19. I'm sure Andersen was the reason why Adams came off, he was surely staring at him to hard from the pits.
