Peterborough Panthers 2016

What's wrong with the land of the PO? -
That's because Doyley lost to James Bates when Bates was very much a junior!!

Sad news about Spud and Rob. Hope they make a quick recovery. Doesn't make a big difference overall to weegies with theo being an improvement over the previous r/r and new r/r being a slight loss over Spud's scoring. The loss of Rob will hit us a bit more though - hope Max is fit and has sorted out his bike problems. Also need Erik to come up with scores from his first race. Other than that our top 4 need to be on the very top of their game all the way through. We might nick it but I'm concerned. Might depend on how Sarj goes/gates.

Congrats to the weegies - overcame the loss of Spud which was a big blow. Seemed to be a lot of nerves on the Glasgow side given the number of tapes indiscretions. Good score from sarj helped. Disappointing number of points let go by our boys but losing Rob was a blow. 7 points is doable but might depend on the replacements for spud & Rob assuming they both miss out.

Scunthorpe Scorpions 2016?

Great news. -
Just highlights the general state of British speedway. Is the Play-Off Final too late? Probably. Is the AGM too early? Probably not. But carry on BSPA - sort out the speedway's ills in your meeting. Just make sure you let the top 2 PL teams know what you decide. At least any decisions can't be Alex Harkess' fault this time if he's not there.

Totally agree Bash!!

Bit of apples and pears being mixed up here. Kurtz the Younger started the season on a 7.54 average but ended it on 8.73, not 9.17. (9.17 is with the 5% guest uplift or coincidentally his 2015 average including BPs.) 1.19 is a good increase but not rocket ship. His away average without BPs was only 7.77, nearly 2 points down on his home average. For comparison, the much criticised Cookie increased his non-BP average by 1.16, so pretty much the same improvement. I agree that Mr. Kurtz needs to develop his racing brain but I don't think that will come more quickly at the drop clutch and twist throttle to max tracks like Somerset, Sheffield & Peterborough, even if he is entertaining to watch there. Just my opinion of course!!

Far too many "J"s in those lists.

Oh dear it's nearly that time then!! Yes as expected I feel very apprehensive about tonight's meeting. + = we are the better team + = we have experience of winning this stuff + = we have the inspiration that is Cookie - = we are away from home - = Tiggers are desperate to prove their investments are reaping the rewards - = mibbe just mibbe Sarj will get away with 7 "special" gates So I just don't know. I fear it might come down to tape breaks, engine failures, iced-up goggles - it's gonna be bl**dy freezing!! At least I'll be able to watch it unfold in the Chatroom in the warm, with a glass of something, with EastEnders on in the background, safe in the knowledge that even if we don't win tonight, we have tomorrow to recover. It'll be even more nerve-wracking tomorrow!! May the better team win and of course we all know we are the better team!!

Well I have sympathy for young Fish. Must be blooming painful.

I actually think Kurtz the Younger would benefit from a year at least at a smaller track.

Doesn't he want to ride in Poland next year? -
Yeah right!
