  1. With the Warsaw GP being cancelled i can foresee the Poles telling Riders they cannot travel in and out of the country
  2. He's on a hiding to nothing calls it off early, some fans moan, call it off late some fans moan. Meeting abandoned after a few heats and loads of track work, some fans moan. Personally I think its better to make the call earlier and save everyone time and money.
  3. Not really,, more of a realist, When did he come back into Speedway when he bought Rye House again late 90s early 00s ? How many promoters have been and gone in that time ? People might not like him or his management style but to put it bluntly he must be doing something right
  4. How many ST holders do Edinburgh have ?
  5. Len Silver has always as far as i know called meetings off early in the day if it doesn't look like it can go ahead. At the end of the day if the track has taken a soaking in the preceding days it's not going to take a lot more to make it unrideable. At the end of the day he's been a promoter for donkey's years and has probably forgotten more than some of us know about the sport, the riders seem to like riding for his teams as they all seem loyal towards him as he is to them. Maybe having an old fashioned business style and paying your riders on time is the way forward.
  6. There are lots of ticketing apps available, that generally charge 10% of ticket price as the booking fee, you get a bar/QR code sent to your phone. The organiser can scan the codes using there phone. Maybe the BSPL should have looked into getting their own App for all tracks tickets, then any profits generated by ticket sales will go to the BSPL. Or they could have linked up with one of the Ticketing apps and offered them lots of promotion of their Brand over the season.
  7. Isolating ? I can't see it being Visa or Work Permit issues as surely with our Country's strict and scrupulous immigration policy, especially since the advent of Covid-19 they wouldn't be in the country
  8. Have you ever considered yourself to be a it of a jinx ?
  9. More tickets available just announced on the Speedway chatshow see Plymouth website and social media for details
  10. This is probably where the local councils take over, no doubt having had prior notice of the restrictions, in an all seater football stadium people can be allocated seating either individually or upto their bubble, at speedway less seating and people tend to flock together, plus a lot of tracks dont have viewing around the whole perimiter
  11. There was a Naval exercise of the south east coast of Scotland yesterday, they did put out information that WiFi/Broadband signals may be affected, Possibly that was the cause of buffering etc
  12. The powers that be would have to do away with averages and go back to Grad[er]ing
  13. Couldn't they borrow/lease one from Swindon or Somerset as they're not running this season, well hopefully only this season, until they can source and buy one themselves Afterall a guest water bowser would fit into speedway quite well
  14. Is he the MP for Swindon who is right behind the redevelopment of the stadium before the houses surrounding it are built
  15. A prime example of the Comedy Gold the Government keep on giving Everyone should wear a mask except those who don't want too, and they wonder why its lockdown after lockdown. I don't like wearing masks as they do affect my breathing due to asthma and old age, but it should be everybody wears a mask in any enclosed public area, only exemptions are by a Dr and put onto you NHS track and trace app, if you don't have a smartphone you get a photo ID card saying your exempt which can be checked by shop staff etc No Mask or medical exemption from a Dr then you're not coming in
  16. You have to remember presenting and commentating are pretty hard things to do, nevermind having a clear voice and knowledge of what you're talking about.. Try and make a 90 second speech without hesitating or umming and ahhing, while someone is garbling away in your ear about this and that.
  17. Olympic stadium worst than Wembley for local amenities, its a fair old hike from the shopping centre where there are a few bars and restaurants, Also afterwards its a long slow walk back to the underground, all very well organised but you walk in circles so access to the stations is limited on numbers.
  18. Ant and Dec presenting the football then
  19. I've never met Lee Kilby but from what i know of him, i reckon if Swindon closed down and had to restart from scratch and run NL in a farmers field in Lydiard Millicent, that's where he would be, doing his best to promote the club and generate sponsorship. He is like his father a Swindon boy through and through. I don't even know if there are farmers fields in Lydiard Millicent, i just saw the name on a signpost when i was out that neck of the woods one day
  20. If Disney buy it we can probably look forward to them showing Ice Speedway as long as they can persuade Scott Nicholls to dress up as Princess Elsa to present it
  21. Are you going to challenge RG to a match race on mopeds when the Diamonds are in town ? Its daft ideas like two people old enough to know better racing around on mopeds that would add to the evenings entertainment, far far better than watching tractors going round and around
  22. i saw someting on the TV a fair few years back where a Welsh politician said that every event, rugby, football, concert etc at Cardiff boosts the local economy by £10 million. So if the Welsh Government or tourist board were pumping £160K into holding the event, to me that makes good business sense. No doubt some of the overseas fans will also make a bit more of a holiday of it and take in some of the Welsh scenery thereby boosting the economy elsewhere in the country. Wembley would hopefully be a great venue, the biggest problem being there's not a lot there for pre and post meeting entertainment. Though on the comcourses around the stadium there is plenty of room for pop up bars and food outlets, Could even have a couple of stages set up on opposite sides of the stadium and have a bit of live music. Of course anyone who thinks Cardiff is dear for a hotel won't be happy with London prices. An enterprising promoter would contact Chiltern Railways at the earliest opportunity and before event announced to ask if they could alter the timetable so all trains stopped at Wembley, and put a few late trains on heading to Birmingham, to actively promote fans to travel in on the train. Sounds daft i know but when Oxford got to the JPT final a few years ago, with 6 weeks notice they had changed the timetable, laid on a few extra trains and made sure absolutely everyone was aware of the groupsave option. Hence the trains were busy and the roads around Wembley a fair bit quieter. No doubt a very good way to promote their line as a cheap and quick route into London for future days out.
