  1. Some old boy driving a truck stopped me by the car factory one day and showed me an invoice and asked for directions. He was well gutted as he'd driven all the way from Dagenham for me to tell him it said that the Cowley he was looking for was near Uxbridge
  2. I Like many people I suspect am blissfully unaware of the vast majority of drugs etc on the banned list. I certainly haven't a clue if Botox or similar drugs are on the list.I do know Botox isn't an Orally taken drug. I was educated at Oxford you know But not at the University or the Poly I went to the school of hard knocks followed by the university of life.
  3. Say he has had Botox or similar, maybe they're on the banned substance list.
  4. Simon Stead would be a good shout he has certainly come across well on the occasions he has appeared on SKYs coverage.
  5. or offer them voluntary redundancy so you sack them but they've quit instead
  6. just raining in Oxford, not very heavy, and thats probably the same rain heading your way. If they get a wriggle on and hopefully no crashes or injuries they may get through 2 meetings
  7. [quote name="PHILIPRISING" post="2773466" Also, the big problem that year was when the dirt was transported from the storage site to the Millennium it was pouring with rain and by the time it arrived was soaked. Nobody had the idea of covering it with homolgated tarpaulin while it was transported in an area which is well known for high rainfall. Seems to me that there needs to be a more common sense approach to preperation to hopefully prevent simple problems causing a PR disaster.
  8. Most probably due to the EU even us youngsters suffer the same affliction
  9. It may be worth contacting the company you've bought the tickets off to see if you can get them delivered to the UK if you know anyone they could be sent too. Or arrange to collect them on the day. Unless of course they can guarantee delivery to your home address before you leave. As you seem to be paying a Kings Ransom for delivery you would hope yours are sent out well in advance.
  10. Some mates and myself went on an Olle Nygren school at Kings Lynn too. I was given a pair of well beaten Green leathers with my body shape I looked like a slow moving Granny Smith on the video footage. But we had a helluva laugh.
  11. TBH I don't know who posted earlier in the thread and can't be bothered to look.Let he or she who has never gone to work worrying/thinking about problems etc in their personal life cast the 1st stone. I've done it and I bet there would be a bloody long line of others queued up behind me.
  12. A couple of matches it said in a previous link to the local paper re BP in and DW out.Regarding DW his personal problems are none of ours business.
  13. But everyone is still waiting for the BV track to be ready.
  14. I remember, though it wasn't in a GO race Steve Johnson at Oxford being handicapped 15M for tape touching, then being handicapped a further 10M for moving at the start in the rerun. Surely that shouldve been adjudged a 2nd starting offence so an exclusion, but Johnno went out and won the race and the stadium erupted with cheering and applause.
  15. I seriously doubt it. Travel within London definitely A few mates and myself travel up by train from Oxford to watch Oxford at various away games on the outskirts of London and it generally works out just over £19 each if we bought TFL tickets on arrival at Paddington it would probably be nearer £30 each Forgot to mention we go to watch Football not speedway Though we live in hope we can watch the Cheetahs(other inferior teams are available) Sooner rather than later
  16. If you have a travelcard/oystercard for your time in London I think it will cover your journey to and from Rye House. I'm sure any London based forum members will know for definite.
  17. So as I see it not only do the BSPA have daft rules that nobody can make head or tail of. They've now spread to EuropeI blame David Cameron
  18. He may well have. Remember reading a winter series about his life in the Speedway Star. He certainly had his fingers in lots of pies
  19. Admittedly he wasn't a rider but photographer Mike Patrick had a record shop up the road from his house in Headington.
  20. Maybe he should be known as VooDooBoyJoking aside a speedy recovery to him
  21. About 11am There's normally a programme fair in the rugby club next door too though they sell lots of other memorabilia too as I understand it. Or go to one of the many pubs like loads of us and meet up with old acquaintances and meet some new ones. We're a friendly bunch though at times you might think you're in the bar in star wars.
  22. But surely if it's stipulated on applying for a licence that a condition of the licence being issued is that you take part in the national championship. Illness/injury permitting though if they are your reasons for missing you get a 7 meeting ban as opposed to a week.
  23. And they have the legendary back straight toilets, people back in America will think you've been to North Korea if you show them some photos
  24. There is a full page advert in today's Oxford Mail sponsored by the Isle of Wight Warriors where there squad are all pictured wearing Save Oxford Stadium race jackets(I know they only had one)with comments from the riders. Kelsey mentions his families involvement at Oxford in his piece
