  1. Given attendances at most tracks as a parameter you'd have a hard time spotting them!
  2. Well given the reaction on here perhaps the pubs should shut too and we can just stare into space for 10 days.
  3. She gets the same level of respect as anybody, I am sad she's died, the same way I was sad when Bernard Cribbins died for example, but I can't change it, and if anything it should show how finite the time we have is and that life is for living.
  4. I wish I'd known about this 10 days of mourning thing when my dad died, I could've done with that and got the country to mourn him too apparently. That's the absurdity of the situation. Yeah, because I didn't know her, in the same way you didn't stop talking speedway in June when my dad died did you? What am I supposed to be worried about on a speedway forum?
  5. Do you have a poll showing that majority who want everything to grind to a halt? I mean should I go into work tomorrow if we're meant to be mourning? Like anybody I didn't know and has lived a long time in the public eye, it's sad, but she was 96, she had a good life and I can understand the day of her funeral being a public holiday perhaps but the rest is just overkill. We're already struggling for dates for finishing the season, why make it even harder?
  6. Thems the breaks. I just want to go out and enjoy my Saturday night.
  7. Was she planning to attend then? I didn't know her, and sad as it is life goes on. My dad died in June but I didn't expect everything to stop, and nobody tell me it's more important than that because it isn't.
  8. Sounds like Leicester’s start Marshall has had some harsh words for a Thompson and upset quite a lot of people in the club and on the terraces. I do think they would benefit from being apart next year as they are still looked on as a package and that doesn’t help either now they’re older.
  9. Isn’t quitting essentially withholding your services? Genuine question because I’m not sure what else you could call it!
  10. Christ no, not even on a 2.00 average, I’d rather we ran with three riders in a heat.
  11. Anders Rowe steps down with immediate effect. What are the options folks? http://www.leicesterspeedway.com/_mobile/news.php?extend.31953
  12. Lions rode really well. Some bad luck for Monarchs which made it harder to keep in touch, but they rely very heavily on Masters and Pickering (nod to Kye Thomson too who looks a good prospect) and the rest didn't really look great. I want to say as well that I paid to watch on Monarchs TV and I was impressed by how good the presentation was, I'll certainly do that again.
  13. Sounds like they’ve cocked the track up then, they did the blade now maybe they need a plough!
  14. I did assume they’d put a few more drops than that!!
  15. Getting very dusty now, finally putting some water down!
  16. New track record Nick Morris 59.81 and another sub 61 minute time in Heat 4. Track looking very fast tonight.
  17. Still don’t think having both Thompson’s was a good idea and I’m not sold on Rowe yet either.
  18. If its £1 with paying adult what is it for a 14/15 year old who goes without an adult?
  19. Jason Garrity and Josh Bates as they are just hazards on a bike. Nicki Perdersen and Craig Cook because the toys go out of the pram at the first opportunity. Richard Sweetman because he buzzed off after about two meetings when the Lions came back and doomed us to an appalling first season back in speedway and I'll never forgive him for that, not after being so excited to see him at Leicester. Also Chris Popple back as announcer would cause me to go on a rampage. I'm sure he was a lovely bloke but it was so painful. Mind you it's not exactly that good now, hearing the Kaiser Chiefs playing for the fourth time a night makes me start twitching.
  20. Meeting abandoned after heat 11 due to track conditions and further rain. Glad I didn't waste my money.
  21. Get in Lions!! Top of the league, top of the world!
  22. I've just read it and I'm baffled, the only real decisions he had to make all night was Vissing breaking the tapes and Lawlor falling on his own. The Glasgow fans I spoke to were certainly more gracious and certainly not downcast so I'm sure it'll be a close thing on Tuesday, hopefully with the Lions on top!
  23. What poor refereeing decisions? I must have missed that! I think Glasgow were poor and their travelling fans who were brilliant deserved better for their journey. As much as I'm pleased with the lead I did hope for a more exciting meeting...
  24. It's odd to come away slightly deflated but with a 12 point lead, I think Glasgow had only had one other heat advantage all night. Cook didn't look interested after his engine went bang and Rasmus Jensen apart Glasgow were far poorer than I expected. Disappointed how Ryan Douglas tailed off and Scott Nicholls should have done better. I still think it'll be close at Ashfield, there's no way Glasgow will be so far adrift there.
