Big decisions in November.
StevePark replied to Sidney the robin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Barrow were actually thrown out of the league for being 'under strength.' They ran a few challenge matches after that, but low crowds then forced the closure. -
Last few meetings dates: Fri 27 Sept Edinburgh (A) Champ. 7.30pm Fri 11 Oct Redcar (A) KOC Final 1st Leg. 7.30pm Sun 13 Oct Redcar (H) KOC Final 2nd Leg. Sun 20 Oct 90th Anniversary Celebration Meeting. 6.30pm.

I think it's supposed to be two of the top three in your averages, but after that I would think you have to go with your "next best" but wouldn't be 100% sure on that. Yep. And I will have even more time on my hands after the 27th Sept when I'm made redundant.

Fixture update: Diamonds match away at Edinburgh re-arranged for Fri 27th Sept (7.30pm).

Before anyone else says it.... 13... without double letter/word or triple letter/word scores.

I would say that it's never ideal to run a double header. Don't forget Glasgow are in the Play-offs, so need to keep at least one - maybe two weeks - free for those matches. I would also suggest that the Glasgow promotion can probably take the hit on the potential losses they will endure, unlike most other clubs.

TBH it's a bit of a gamble what ever the format, as individual meetings and challenge matches (which a three team tournament would effectively be) aren't as well attended as "proper" matches. Hopefully the riders that are coming will attract the crowd and we are entertained on the day, which is what it's really all about.

That's two league matches, which they arranged to get them in before the cut-off. We are running against Redcar in the league on Sunday - before the cut-off, as I'm pretty sure the BSPA/SCB (whichever!) wanted to happen. Why run a Cup Final six weeks before the season has ended "just to get it in" as a Double Header, when it's been proven in the past at Newcastle, Double Headers are a money loss, as described by Arthur Cross above - and we can have another meeting to look forward to?

Some might suggest we run a Double Header that day then......

I've got heats 1-13 (except heat 5) if that helps! heat 1 63.7. heat 2 64.5. heat 3 64.4. heat 4 65.3. heat 6 65.4. heat 7 65.0. heat 8 64.9. heat 9 65.0. heat 10 64.7. heat 11 64.6. heat 12 64.7. heat 13 64.9.

We don't get ANY of the bar takings. What increased takings at the track shop ( a few extra cups of tea?). Would get more neutral fans wanting to pay £17 for a cup final, than say £30 for a double header including a meeting they have no interest in (in my opinion). It makes no sense whatsoever (again, in my opinion).

One set of fans from both clubs and two lots of points money to pay out, though.
