  1. Line-ups (taken off the SpeedwayGB website): NEWCASTLE: Steve Worrall, Max Clegg, Lasse Bjerre, Matthew Wethers, Thomas Jorgensen, Jacob Bukhave, Danny Phillips. BERWICK: Aaron Summers, Jye Etheridge, Kevin Doolan, Dany Gappmaier, Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen R/R, Coty Garcia, Leon Flint.
  2. Perhaps they were the only team that would come tomorrow? Just saying that that is a possibility, I'm not saying it as a fact. I'd much rather have Berwick back down than have another blank week personally speaking, if that is the case.
  3. I was talking to a couple of King's Lynn fans before going in to the Fours and they said the last time they heard, Wilko's bikes are all ready and he's just waiting on a phone call from anybody.
  4. Newcastle unchanged with Bandits using R/R for the sick Busk Jakobsen, which plays everyone in for the extra ride.
  5. It's getting that right rider though. That rider has to be available and on the right average. Also the rider has to be sensible and not demand stupid money. This isn't Fantasy League speedway, where every rider is available and will sign, it is a lot more complicated than that.
  6. IF it goes up to 40 (not sure about that, but no doubt someone will know!) we have 2.03 on the July averages (see my post earlier on this page - I wish the posts were numbered like they used to be!!!).
  7. Some fans are never happy. As with previous years, we are near, but not quite there as a team, perhaps one rider away from being a good side (who that rider is though is anyone's guess!). High 30's+ on the road at the majority of tracks, a couple of early home defeats as riders got used to new surroundings and beaten by the best team in the league at home. I think we are in a false league position. Plus we have a Semi-Final of the KOC to look forward to against a team we seem to do well against on their track.
  8. Averages (effective 1st July) Steve 7.76. TJ 6.89. Lasse 6.47. Matty 6.52. Max 4.33. Jacob 4.00. Danny 2.00. Ttl 37.97.
  9. Should be a 2.00. Signed for Glasgow on 2, but didn't ride.
  10. Connor Coles in to replace Luke Ruddick http://www.edinburghmonarchs.co.uk/news-centre/article/2019-06-26/connor-coles-joins-the-team
  11. Connor Coles has signed for Edinburgh http://www.edinburghmonarchs.co.uk/news-centre/article/2019-06-26/connor-coles-joins-the-team
  12. Jordan Palin born 19 Feb 2004, so not 16 until next year.
  13. Very sad to hear about the death of Monarch's photographer Ron MacNeill. Always had a smile on his face. Condolences to his family and friends.
  14. Why start another thread when there is already one here http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/88097-championship-fours/&page=1??
  15. Probably - but I was just replying to Dandelion and her suggestions
  16. Rene Bach - not doing UK due to new family last I heard Nicolai Klindt - not sure but I think is doing Poland Theo Pijper - would do an OK job, but not getting any younger Ludde - been there, done that, got the T-Shirt Mason Campton - Visa problems (I don't think he can ride anywhere except Workington?)
  17. Only one fixture in the CL that day - Berwick vs Leicester, so might have a slight impact?
  18. Off the Diamonds website: Newcastle Speedway make fixture changes and push back 90th Anniversary Meeting. The management of Newcastle Speedway have reluctantly decided to move their 90th Anniversary Meeting from its scheduled date of July 7th to later on in the season to ease fixture problems and allow competitions to move forward. Commercial Executive, Steve Brock, who has led the planning meetings for the 90th Anniversary event said ‘It’s with great reluctance that we have took this course of action but with the added complications of having to give up our race day to shared events we really needed to place the official competitions as our primary area of concern.’ ‘We have had excellent backing from the local business community for the 90th and thankfully they all understand our predicament and will still be supporting the event when we host it later in the year.’ ‘This scenario just makes us more determined to put on something special later on in the season.’ Revised Newcastle Speedway home fixtures in the next few weeks now look as follows…. Sunday June 30th v Berwick – Championship Sunday July 7th v Scunthorpe – Championship Sunday July 14th v Edinburgh – this meeting is now the KO Cup Semi Final with the league match originally scheduled for that date now taking place on Sunday September 8th.
  19. Eh? It's an Open meeting. I'm sure the NL Fours will be a higher priority than an individual meeting.
