  1. Workington had already announce their seven riders - before then announcing they weren't going to run, don't forget.
  2. Meeting preview here: https://www.edinburghmonarchs.co.uk/news-centre/article/2019-04-17/improving-diamonds-next-at-armadale
  3. Missed the shield meeting and got injured in his only ride in the league.....
  4. Sheffield website preview here: http://www.sheffield-speedway.com/news.php?extend.2689
  5. Company is LJM Asset Management Ltd. https://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/ltd/ljm-asset-management
  6. I think the insinuation is that we have zero chance of qualifying from the Shield group.
  7. It was the "old" starting procedure in both matches. The Diamonds have ridden in four matches so far and the "new" procedure has been used just once, at home to Redcar last week. Having said that, two of the matches (away at Redcar and on Sunday at home to Berwick) have had the same referee in charge.
  8. I asked someone last week (a Starting Marshal) and the reply I got was "it's up to the referee." If this is indeed correct (and I have no doubt it is), what's the point of having the rule and being able to use the 'old' rule? It's just going to confuse.
  9. It's on a league basis. 'All' we need to do is win by 7 points or more, to stop them getting any league points.
  10. ..... Lucky guess...... What are tomorrows Lottery Numbers please???
  11. http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/tickets/ Now open for business!!
  12. I don't think the result is the be all and end all, seeing it was the first match of the season and only a challenge with a trophy nailed to it (as the late Bob Tasker used to say!). Nice to win, yes, but not that important in the grand scheme of things.
  13. ? You missed some great racing and no-one got hurt. What's not to like?
  14. MPT isn't too shabby around Brough and, IIRC, Charles Wright went round there OK last time he was there.
  15. I can't remember if it was studs or velcro (although it might have been both!),
  16. The number 3 was on his kevlars, with studs/velcro still there for a number to go on top so he may not necessarily be number 3.
  17. Pre-season testing in Poland. https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/speedway/sheffield-tigers/sixteen-year-old-sheffield-speedway-ace-braces-himself-for-tough-meeting-at-owlerton-1-9646092
  18. It would have been a bit later than that as the first Northern Launch was 2014. I think it was the 2016 one, but I'm not entirely sure.
  19. Apparently, both will be at Sheffield. Steve W will do the "Press" bit at Newcastle and head off to Sheffield, whilst Simon L has been given permission to miss Newcastle altogether. Unless you know otherwise.
