  1. Are we actually signing rider(s), or just having a look at one (or two)?
  2. He scored 15+2 from the number 5 position for Newcastle there last week, so don't know how that makes you weaker? !!
  3. No negotiations necessary really. It's a challenge match, so we could use seven guests if we want (providing Berwick agreed). The only thing would be is when the team has to be declared, even then changes could be made (again with Berwick's agreement).
  4. Team managers are Stevie Worrall (Scorpions) and Roy Clarke (Diamonds). One of the guests for the Diamonds is David Howe.
  5. They thought they had. The rider concerned then decided he didn't want to ride in the SGB Championship after all.
  6. Averages for May now: Ludvig 6.89. Robbo 6.65. Lewis 6.47. Matty 5.65. Tero 5.05. Ash 4.93. Wilko 4.88 (Ttl 40.52). Full Greensheets: http://www.speedwaygb.co/files/downloads/c18_issue_4.pdf
  7. Teams: Newcastle: Ludvig Lindgren (captain), Tero Aarnio, Kevin Doolan (guest), Matthew Wethers, Paul Starke (guest), Carl Wilkinson, Ashley Morris Ipswich: Ben Barker (guest), Nico Covatti - Rider replacement, Cameron Heeps, Josh Pickering (guest), Rory Schlein, Connor Mountain, Danyon Hume Taken from: http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=100872
  8. 10 out of the 11 Championship teams are riding tonight, Newcastle being the only ones not in action. So not much choice for a guest for Rene B, especially when two of the top three in the Diamonds averages are injured/taking a break from the sport.
  9. George said on Tuesday (interview with Roy Clarke for the Speedway Portal), they thought they had found someone to come in, but, whoever it was, decided they "didn't want to ride in the Championship," so we "may have to look at a foreign rider."
  10. Silly thing to say, if I may say so. His bikes in Sweden will be tuned to suit Swedish tracks and his UK bikes tuned to suit the UK tracks. The hidden agenda from yourself to suggest he keeps his 'best bikes' (not that there is such a thing) in Sweden, is, to be honest, quite appalling, in my opinion.
  11. He had a spare bike. He used it. It conked out too.
  12. Kyle Howarth OUT (bruised thigh) - Jason Garrity guests
  13. No longer on the brink. They are relegated.
  14. And one got a very nice pay packet guesting for a Championship side on Sunday!!
  15. Depends on the rider, but I would hope it would make riders more determined to prove their worth in the team, making them less likely to be "dropped."
  16. My point is in response to the question you posed on line three of your previous post. This was the response made by George on the night. Nothing other than that. Still very early days. And I say that with the thought being the current 1-7 might not (and probably not) be the 1-7 at the end of the season. It will be poignant on Sunday, you are quite right, let's hope for a big crowd to say "thank you and goodbye" to a genuine legend of the sport and to the Diamonds.
