  1. Dan Bewley rode Motocross before he switched to speedway, same as John Louis (although it was 'Scrambling' back in the day!!).

  3. There's two threads: http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=84967
  4. According to the Tigers website: SHEFFIELD: Scott Nicholls, Todd Kurtz, Lasse Bjerre, Josh Bates, Kyle Howarth, Jan Graversen, Georgie Wood. NEWCASTLE: Robert Lambert, Ludvig Lindgren R/R, Stuart Robson, Ashley Morris, Steve Worrall, Ben Hopwood, Alfie Bowtell.
  5. I should have also added 'short changed' the thousand or so that turned up at Peterborough for the Fours last week, too. Not only did Newcastle possibly suffer at the turnstiles (although looking 'side on' at the crowd it looked to be about the norm.), they would have had to fork out more on wages for the riders last night compared to if Holder had ridden, due to the extra points they scored by beating Rutherford.
  6. It's not only 'short changing' the Peterborough fans, though is it? It's also 'short changing' the Newcastle fans last night and, apparently, the Scunthorpe fans next week, too.
  7. And Peterborough's official raceday is???? I can see Josh Embleton riding for Peterborough tonight at this rate.
  8. You've committed a cardinal sin here, I'm afraid to say - you've fed the troll.
  9. Newcastle v Barrnsley (Sun 7 May) kicked off 12 noon. Tomorrow's kicks off at 1.30pm.
  10. Restaurant back open, but upstairs bar still closed... http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=100764
  11. Yes, against teams who are not fighting for a play-off place, but those who are (Sheffield and possibly even Redcar) will want to come before the cut-off date, I would think?
  12. Off the top of my head: HOME: Sheffield, Redcar (twice) and Workington. AWAY: Sheffield and Workington. PLUS the KOC match with Glasgow (home and away) to arrange.
  13. A contract isn't worth the paper it's written on these days. From both a promoters and a riders perspective.
  14. Copied and pasted from the Workington Facebook page: Late on Thursday night Rob Shuttleworth informed us he was stopping riding in the SGB Championship with immediate effect. He stated that it was unaffordable for him to continue and despite many attempts to contact him to discuss the situation and offer solutions he does not wish to return the calls. Due to the team line up deadline passing we cannot replace Rob in our line up so will be using guest riders for the remainder of the season. Buxton's Tom Woolley will take the number 7 jacket tonight against Scunthorpe.
  15. Why does a rider have to fall, for someone to be excluded? If it's seen as "dangerous riding" (whether intentional or not), then the rider should be excluded. I'm guessing the referee didn't see it as dangerous riding, so allowed the race to continue.
  16. Don't think that's the case, I think that they can't have new assets, but if they had already got them they keep them as assets, but I'm sure someone can confirm. See here: http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=81156&page=1
  17. Robert was clearly battered and bruised and Stevie had bike issues most of the night, which is why Ludde and Robbo were in heat 15.
  18. Not entirely true. He is one of the people who put the team together. He has a say in who we (try to) sign.
  19. I don't class riders (particularly home riders) overtaking slow opposition, or where riders have to make a mistake to see someone overtake, as "good races," which, in the majority of the races you are quoting (particularly the Georgie Wood races), is what happened (in my opinion).
