  1. One of the youngsters was Darryl Illingworth's daughter, I seem to recall.
  2. I don't deal in rumours, I only deal with facts, so, as it stands. 10 - 1 = 9.
  3. 10- teams last season - Sheffield move up - that leaves 9.
  4. But, the (potential) problem is, if the admission costs remain the same, are fans willing to pay it, to see 2 races less?
  5. 21-21 after 7 heats: http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/17412/sheffield-redcar-championship-23-2017?page=1&scrollTo=347799
  6. But would the promoters cut the admission costs accordingly? I doubt it.
  7. I was on the back gate last night and, off the top of my head, I think the total number of guests, that got in on the 'back of the track staff,' was 6.
  8. I thought that what the Northern Junior & Midland Development Leagues were for? I don't know if the riders would be prepared to go back to 13 heats (some riders would miss one ride by not having a heat 14 or 15) and would the pays scale be the same in the 2nd half as in the main match? If so, I can't see the point. You might as well keep it at 15 (it's worked for years, so why change it?).
  9. Aaron Summers now guests for Craig Cook for Workington. (Via Workington Facebook page he's "still unwell") Did he not attend the Belle Vue End of Season do last night? (Genuine question)
  10. Currently Sheffield, Redcar and Ipswich all ride on Thursday's, so they, I presume, will have to find an alternative race-night?
  11. Taken from the Diamonds website: Sunday's proposed line-ups: Newcastle Diamonds: Robert Lambert, Ashley Morris, Stuart Robson, Ludvig Lindgren (captain), Steve Worrall, Ben Hopwood, Alfie Bowtell Workington Comets: Craig Cook (if fit) (captain), Max Clegg (guest), Mason Campton, Rider replacement for Thomas Jorgensen, Ty Proctor, James Sarjeant, Ryan MacDonald (guest) Redcar Bears: Aaron Summers (guest), David Wallinger (NL Guest), Charles Wright - Rider replacement, Jonas B Andersen (captain), Josh Auty (guest), Max Clegg (guest) , James Sarjeant (guest)
  12. And the point of having a team manager would be?? At least with the 'old' tac sub rule, it gave the managers flexibility and made them think about things, unlike now where all they have to do is work out when/if to switch the reserves around, or bring them in for a top 5 rider who is under performing (unless the team is using R/R, of course).
  13. Away goals in European Club football when the tie is a draw on aggregate
  14. Like he did with Stevie W and the Belle Vue fiasco... oh, no, wait a minute....
  15. 45 appearances in 1985 suggests otherwise (4.78 average).
  16. 16.5.1 A Team may utilise a "Facility" to cover the absence of a Rider(s) who: f) is sick or carrying a non-speedway injury for which a Medical Certificate must be supplied to the SCB within 48 hours of the sickness / injury occurring in which case the Rider may only return within 7 days (including his Team’s next home Meeting) with the express permission of the MC. However, failure to provide a Certificate will nevertheless result in the mandatory suspension of the rider’s SCB Registration for the next home fixture. NB. The BSPA MC cannot overrule the suspension.
  17. I have it on very good authority, that's wrong. For a start Bates average is 6.55 and Proctor's average is 7.38 (Howarth's is 8.62), so he can only guest for Howarth and not Bates. Palm Toft was booked provisionally on Friday, but Robert has said he will be there tonight, so Palm Toft is no longer number 1.
  18. Rumour is that the Sheffield website is wrong and Robert L rides tonight.
  19. Easily remedied at the start of the season then, either sign for Newcastle and not a Polish cub, or sign for another Championship team that don't ride on the night the Polish team do and not a Sunday track.
  20. Seeing as he's British, he should be obliged to put his British club first, that's what I'm saying. I don't think so, no. Otherwise we could have used a 'proper' guest (no offence to Josh).
  21. What about it? All I'm saying is (playing Devil's advocate) that a UK rider chose to ride in Poland, instead of his UK club. He took that risk when he signed for Newcastle and his Polish club at the start of the season. He knew there might be a chance of a fixture clash/ fixture clashes at the end of the season.
  22. Yes, but he chose to ride in Poland, rather than for Newcastle, his UK club.
