  1. Berwick did try to sign Holub but he was going to miss too many meetings to which some they would of had no facility. 25th July (Czech U21), 8th August (Czech U21), 22nd August (WC Under 21), 29th August (European U21), 5th Sept (Czech U21), 12th Sept (European Team U21) 19th Sept (World Cup Under 21), 26th Sept (European Pairs).
  2. Extremely luck to have saturday's when it comes to the idiots of Berwick Council. Like i have stated in the past on here, once its gone its gone, not a cat in hells chance the Council would let speedway return. Although "to the point" did mention that they have a five year window for it to return? no idea where this information comes from!
  3. Their has been no mention of national league in the statement, so why talk about it?
  4. Is there really a solution to Speedway in the country? Far to many teams struggling at the minute, who do you get extra punters through the gate? The Berwick promotion have tried everything they can to increase the crowd, for example sky meetings, Grand prix meetings etc. but have failed to sustain any crowd levels. Perhaps people now pick and choose what meeting they go to? A loyalty scheme would perhaps help for example after attending 4 meetings get in free on the 5th meeting. We have had decent crowds when against the likes of Glasgow and Edinburgh, but always going to have poor crowds against the likes of Plymouth and Rye house. The elite league has been a dying product for years and what do they do? bring out a fast track system in a bid to save thier own skin, (which should of been done at premier league level imo) And as for some of the rules they come out with is barking for example Adam Ellis not allowed to ride in the Premier League how can that be a good thing? and that Wilson dean bloke not being able to ride at premier league level unless a 7 point average? Only speedway would know how to constantly kick itself in the nuts time and time again. Time for drastic chance in the way things are run in this country and by whom they are run, but unfortuntlay the damage appears to have been done and its gone to the dogs as they say. Berwick most definatley have been hampered by the injuires to Ben and Claus, and replacements have been very very difficult to find, (Sheffield with Simon Stead as another example) Interesting to hear the comments on Sky from Lakeside when they were missing AJ and the effect that had on their results. I for one hope that Berwick Speedway can be saved and will continue, but right now i fear the worst.
  5. Yes, and fingers crossed, the right person/persons can be found to either work alongside the current promotion or take over completely.
  6. Nice idea and makes sense from a financial perspective, but the bloody minded BSPA will never go for it. The whole of British Speedway is a mess right now, think there are more clubs than Berwick and Scunthorpe in trouble. Just need to look at what happened to Birmingham and Eastbourne last season as an example.
  7. Like everything else it will all come out in the wash............and until then we will just have to wait and see what happens, miracle needed though.
  8. Can someone clarify something.............i was under the impression that the elite league had first dibs on riders for example if Coventry and Ipswich were riding on the same night, Danny King had to ride for Coventry, (is this due to whom he belongs to?) Just that Craig Cook rode for Edinburgh on a couple of occasions this season and not Belle Vue on the same night.
  9. Wonder why this was not made public? He did blow an engine as well did he not? Well whatever happens next year, won't really matter to you will it? because you don't even go! Keyboard fan.
  10. 274 pages on this thread has to be a record in its self! What on earth will folk talk about next year if Berwick do not run? As for the team.........well losing both heat leaders i do not know any other team that would be able to sustain that type of loss and massive credit to Jorgensen and Doolan both of whom have been riding as heat leaders, R/R has failed yet again, proving over any period of time this does not work, and our guests have been pretty average, (although scoring very impressively at berwick when riding for the oppostion). Reserve again proving key in being able to win meetings, just look at Matej Kus's scores last season, aint rocket science!
  11. Gating problems that is all, surely the start would be set up for how the home riders want it?
  12. Claus looking to be back next month.
  13. Our continued participation could also have a bearing on where he rides
  14. Anyone know where shadders is? All very quiet
  15. Have to agree, and our season could be over by tomorrow night!
  16. Sadly? thought you were prefering to go out for pints with your family??? pity you couldnt bring them along to the speedway?
  17. If we are to stand any chance of getting something from this meeting, both reserves have to get amongst the points, and plenty of them!
  18. Truly deluded! how can you blame Jorgensen for that? racing incident as they say.
