  1. How odd that Somerset have scored more points on their track than Edinburgh have scored on theirs, and yet Edinburgh have scored more away. Does that not suggest the opposite? (I see the dopey smiley).
  2. 16 wins on the trot since we drew at Newcastle on 17th August. 18 matches unbeaten since losing at Somerset on 13th August. And that's following a 24 match unbeaten run to start the season. And I still don't think we have all that strong a team.
  3. But when we went to Peterborough, their top five was Blackbird, Dryml, Summers, Ostergaard and r/r with them all getting a ride. They are weaker now. Still a valid point though. This is such a ridiculous post. Edinburgh would never bring in to their team an established Elite Leage rider like Eddie Kennett. We signed Craig Cook in 2011 with the money we got from transferring Aaron Summers. Sam Masters was begging for a team place on Facebook. Justin Sedgmen had been written off by many. Steve Worrall was a 3-pointer. Max Fricke surprisingly didn't have many chasing him, he would probably have gone to Leicester last year to link up with a friend in the area, if they had made an offer but they didn't. Yes it's expensive, of course it is when they score 59 away from home the day after getting 67 at Armadale.
  4. Mind you instead of Max we seem to be tracking his Ma at no. 3
  5. The meeting is off, no overtakes for Paulco to drool over tonight.
  6. Isn't that a bit misleading? Ryan is surely only a Scunthorpe rider in the National League, and there was no alternative up this end of the world. There are not many juniors at any track these days sadly, each of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Berwick gives track time to any who turn up.
  7. Surely on most tracks, Bellego, Doolan, Jensen and Kus (potential multiple rides) is a more than adequate r/r for Matthew Wethers? Only at Edinburgh, Rye is it not so hot.
  8. That makes a big difference. Rose is a key man and r/r for him is pretty weak even if both reserves are in place. Had Nielsen been missing and Mills hamstrung with machine problems you would have been in the mire.
  9. If by this you mean the wrong inclusion of Edberg in the last race, well who would be bothered about that anyway. But if you heard the reasoning by the ref as to why it was OK, you will know how embarrassing it was. So bad that it is doing him a favour not to repeat it here.
  10. There was actually no reason why Derek could not have ridden in heat 11. There were still enough heats remaining to have two non-starts for Fox.
  11. This was at the behest of the referee. He insisted that Derek could take all of Aaron's rides. When the Edinburgh manager asked "Are you sure" he was told "Yes". Only when Berwick (quite rightly) queried it, did the ref check his rule book and find the right answer. Not the only refereeing gaffe of the night.
  12. There are 10 PL teams racing tonight and some of the riders from the other two teams already guesting. Would not be easy to find guests.
  13. I'm not quite sure why he should be singled out. If the rule were that riders come back still on their assessed average if their real average is lower, I think Edinburgh would still take Aaron on 5. Definite potential there. You in particular might recall that he beat Thomas Jorgensen in his first ride at Scunthorpe.
  14. I don't think speedway has a remotely coherent policy on drugs, they simply pinch lists of long names from other sports which may or may not be appropriate. This one seems to be banned because it is dangerous to the person who uses it, rather than to anyone else. The idea of anything being performance-enhancing in speedway is ludicrous, obviously on the other hand if it makes a rider less competent (as in drink) then it is serious. It would be more relevant in Dudek's case to find out how he came to have the drug in his system. I suspect he won't know.
  15. Nobody has said it gave anyone an advantage. But it spoilt the meeting.
  16. Anders also said he was borrowing an engine from his mechanic. Unless his mechanic is Emil Sayfutdinov I guess he might be struggling today. With Theo also missing things seem to favour Somerset.
  17. That was because they thought it might be r/r for Kerr.
  18. I thought Klindt was distracted by the fact that Wolbert didn't move (having blown up). There was no real reason to stop it except that with the result decided it would have been better to see a proper race. It certainly qualified as an unsatisfactory start.
