Everyone seems to be discarding Tully and Lindgren after a poor match at Redcar. The old saying "You're only as good as your last match." Seems to me both have been pretty good for Newcastle this season.

Edinburgh V Workington 27/9/13 Plpo
Al Stewart replied to Monarchlad's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
For some reason Rusty had surely his worst ever Armadale meeting. If he had scored 6 or so it would have been close. On the other hand Max Fricke would have scored more (and probably had more rides) if it wasn't for the heat 4 crash which damaged his bike. His score looked OK but he was much less effective after the crash and couldn't get his other bike going. -
Bryn Williams - Best Wishes
Al Stewart replied to Star Lady's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
All the best Bryn, sorry to hear about this. It won't stop you. -
The assessment is nonsense. If he had ridden inside and just behind, the normal way of doing things, he would have invited an outside overtake. He did cut back to ride inside coming out of the turns. It had to be an improvised ride. I can't fathom why Tsunami was never world champion. Perhaps it was too many reruns.

Workington V Edinburgh (pl) 9/9/13 @ 7.00/7.30pm
Al Stewart replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Not only a bit late but Edinburgh are at Somerset in the KO Cup. -
When we lost at Berwick after Cook had taken 4, Alex Harkess said he regretted doing it that way and wished he had given Cook 2 and hoped Tabaka had picked up something. So John Campbell did it the other way round tonight. Still didn't work.

I must say I like the generally sporting reaction of the Witches fans to last night's fairly heavy defeat, given that there has been a certain amount of niggle between the sides in the last couple of years. Let's hope winners and losers on Thursday night are equally gracious. Both teams have contributed hugely to one of the most fascinating seasons I can remember, as far as the PL goes. Along with Somerset, Newcastle, Workington etc.

They may not be aware that Cook won't be riding for Belle Vue as he will be with Edinburgh at Workington. That makes the Belle Vue match a bit of a waste of time.

I know people have been saying that, but do we know for sure? I will regret very much not having the weekly Elite match. I know it's fashionable to say it is rubbish but it's something to look forward to on a Monday, I've watched every one since they started and I think the coverage is superb. That's me in a minority of one right away. Thank you.

Does anyone know what matches there are on Sky from now on. Presumably they will show the Playoffs as usual (whenever they are), but I can't find anything else on the Sky Sports website.

Somerset V Edinburgh Koc 27/8/13 @ 7:30pm
Al Stewart replied to RebelRebel's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
In the case of Masters last year, did you not have Masters, Vissing and Monberg all available and two places to fill? So a decision had to be made. This time you have discarded a young up and comer for an older low average rider, possibly a small short term gain but a long term blunder I am sure. -

I thought you were joking when you said Nielsen is sacked. What? Any team would be delighted to have a battling reserve like that. I wish we could fit him in at Edinburgh. I hope he isn't discouraged by this rank stupidity and gets a team soon. -
Very interesting to see these. Would have been even better if the camera had a zoom button.

Edinburgh V Somerset 16/8

That's horrendously unfair to a rider giving his all. Too much throttle and not enough thought, maybe, but how can you fault anyone who puts in so much effort? The word 'pathetic' is completely inappropriate, the sort of thing that gives internet forums a bad name. It was a great meeting and all the Rebels played their part. -
Redcar V Scunthorpe, 8/8/13

Quite agree with your points. But if 1 person represents only .01% of the Scunny support then there must be 10,000 Scunthorpe fans. Lucky Rob Godfrey! -
Ipswich V Edinburgh 25/7/13

Big rivals with short fuses and itchy twitter fingers. Not clever. Incredibly frustrating for Cook to become the first rider who seems to have made Barker look the innocent party, after dozens of previous incidents with other riders in which he didn't! -

I was told by an eye witness that Barker pushed him as they returned to the pits. I didn't say the reaction was reasonable.
